I'm a Registered Nurse and have the CORE Digitial attached to my Littmann Cardiology IV. I initially purchased this device because the default stethoscope ear-tips are very uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. The CORE Digital allows me to use my Bluetooth headset with comfort. That being said, there is one major disadvantage to this device. The latency between the CORE Digital and any Bluetooth device is very distracting. While auscultating lung sounds, the chest rise and fall is visible before you hear any audio. Pros: Can adapt to all Littmann Stethoscopes Pairs easily to phones Amplifies Stethoscope bell audio Can be used without the phone Compact size and fits in my Stethoscope case Can easily be removed from the Stethoscope Noise cancellation removes most background audio Cons: Very noticeable latency between the CORE Digital and to any Bluetooth headset/earphones/headphones To record/send/analyze heart sounds, you need to register on the app If you remove your account, your email cannot be used in the future to use the app. If you pair the CORE Digital to a Bluetooth speaker, the audio is very faint Charges via Micro-USB

I just got hearing aids & can no longer put anything against my ears. The EKO core is great. It links with my hearing aids through the app. I can hear breath sounds much better.

I added the core attachment to my Littmann classic III. It’s a night and day difference on how much more I can hear now especially in the ambulance. I love the filtering modes for cardiac and pulmonary oscultation. It does an awesome job of filtering out unwanted noises so you can focus on what you’re listening for. Only gripe is when the volume is turned all the way up or close to all the way up it’s almost too sensitive and makes unwanted noises. I found the sweet spot to be about volume level 3-4 for me to hear the most clearly.

Working in the ER I now realize I never actually heard heart sounds or breath sounds. The amount that the eko picks up in a loud busy ER is astounding! It's like hearing sounds for the first time. It is so easy to use and just attached to my littman that I already had! I love this and will be telling everyone I know about this. The only problem I have is that the part that attaches to my stethoscope sometimes turns instead of the bell turning so it can get loose, I am not sure of a workaround for this but that's my only complaint, and it might be just the way I turn the bell isn't correct. But that's a minimal price to pay for a great device!!

Noise cancelation is helpful, as the practice of medicine has shifted in general to noisy environments. The adaptive connection is a little loose, and I have to be careful in general, so the stethoscope head does not disconnect during all phases of use and especially when turning the head to the bell or diaphragm side. Now, to use the device, I have to use my phone to change from pulmonary to cardiac, etc. It would be better to have that feature on the device itself, as I am handling it anyway; and having to go back and forth to my phone from patient to patient, involves more steps (and buttons to push) and cuts down on productivity.

I work as a respiratory therapist and so often I just couldn’t hear but now I can. I have been looking at augmented stethoscopes for a long time. I liked that I could adapt my stethoscope with the core attachment.

I can hear everything so much clearer. Murmurs are easier to detected especially when you have talkative patients.

First of all - the device itself is AMAZING. I'm a nursing student and invested in this when I found out that the reason I was struggling in auscultation assessments was due to hearing loss. Game. Changer. I've loaned my stethoscope to others in my cohort and they're shocked at how much more clear everything sounds. 100% worth the investment - and I recommend it for students because it helps to really hear things clearly so that you know what the sound is that you're looking for and aren't guessing based on muffled noises. HOWEVER - my one star deduction is due to the connectors. The device has two screw in barbed pieces that insert into the tubing of your scope on one end, and the chest piece on the other. They stay put just fine, but are constantly unscrewing from the Eko! I'm terrified I'm going to lose the device or my chest piece or both. Eko - please fix this!
