Working in a noisy pre-op area, it is sometimes hard to hear heart and lung sounds. I find this to be a great tool. It has made it so easy for me to hear. Also love the app, tells me sooo much about my patient. This is surely the future of stethoscopes!! Love mine so much, I bought my son one. He graduates this June from nursing school, is in the military and has hearing loss. So helpful. He loves his too.

Now I can actually hear heart sounds and murmurs instead of thinking I hear something. It works so well that I can hear what I need to hear even when I am listening to a crying 2 year old. The added Bluetooth connection to my Sony Linkbuds (or any earbuds you choose) is a killer feature as well. I love the Eko device so much I am going to trade this one to get the Eko Duo. The reason for to get the Duo is I don't want to carry around a bell. The Core is great because you can attach it to any stethoscope you already have for a lower price than the Duo. But the Duo's slim card-like form factor attracts me more. This is more of a personal preference. I highly recommend the Core for anyone who wants a lower-cost amplifier to hear and analyze heart sounds.

Eko changed my life. I developed profound hearing loss as an adult. Standard stethoscopes no longer worked for me while wearing my hearing aids. As I transitioned from RN to NP auscultation of heart and lung sounds was critical. The amplifier, app, and blue tooth technology has given me the confidence to hear during an assessment and make diagnoses! You will not regret the decision to purchase

The Eko worked great for the first few days but stopped working on day 4. My stethoscope still functioned normally as it did before attaching the Eko, but the noise-canceling feature stopped transmitting ALL sound when it was turned on. I reached out to Eko and they're sending me a new device to replace it, so I'm happy with the service in that respect; I'm just a little annoyed that the original crapped out on me so quickly.

For all my EMS folk- we all know how loud it can be in the field- engines, A/C, exhaust fans, sirens, radios, people yelling- you know.. I use this with earbud(s) only. It is compact enough to carry on my person and it reduces ambient noise beyond any other I’ve tried to include the noise cancelling ears from another popular brand. When I know I’m running a breather or code I prelaunch the app and the EKO will connect within 5 seconds after turning it on. No more of the ‘ol “I can’t hear- can you?” I’ve only had it for a short time- so I’m uncertain how well it will hold up in the field. Cons- for prehospital folks it’s a bit pricey, it’s made of plastic, it’d be nice if they included a cap to protect the exposed junction which normally goes to the tubing/ears.
