“5/5 Fit & Finish 5/5 Form Factor 5/5 Function 4/5 Weatherproofness I used a 3M Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope throughout Paramedic School over the course of this past year. As a newly Nationally Registered Paramedic, I will continue to use this stethoscope in my professional practice. I also recently purchased a second 3M Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope and an Eko CORE Digital Attachment as gifts for two Physician family members. Thus far, all units have demonstrated good fit & finish, a light & small form factor, and excellent function, as advertised. That said, the one recommendation I would make, as a Paramedic, is: I would like to see all Eko CORE units made with waterproof or water-resistant ratings. In the field, we work rain, snow, or shine — regardless of conditions. As of the writing of this review, there is an exposed micro USB charging port on all COREs. This provides an entry point for water and moisture, which could potentially compromise the device. Naturally, Eko also does not market COREs as being waterproof or water resistant. Re-engineering the CORE units to cover the charging port and provide an IP rating, or similar, would help their performance and survivability in austere environments. This would, in turn, make these units far more useful and confidence-inspiring to medical professionals working in the field. I look forward to seeing the next generation of Eko devices and eagerly await the implementation of a waterproof/water-resistant CORE! “I’m a paramedic and I work for a busy 911 response service in a major metro area. I had hoped this would help me hear lung sounds better, and it does… if I can hear them through the ambient noise. Might be a problem with my stethoscope, but I have a littman cardiology, so who knows.”

“I gave a 4 because my lithman head falls out of the black connector because it is quite wide and I have to use force all the time to let it stay on”

“Being up in years and trying to auscultate in the back of a noisy moving ambulance I thought I was headed to retirement. EKO Core is a game changer. Not sure why I waited so long to get one. Thanks EKO.”

“I have tinnitus and can't always hear what I need to when doing assessments. I am so happy I decided to get this!!! 100% recommend to anyone that has hearing issues!”

“Finally! I can hear distinct heart beats, lung and bowel sounds again! I have severe tinnitus and had given up not being able to hear these sounds clearly. But the CORE Digital Attachment magnifies the sounds to very audible levels! Wish I had invested in it sooner. Worth every penny!”
