“I considered several options for my daily last-mile commute and eventualy ended up deciding a scooter was the way to go. Although there were a number of options, my decision to go with the 2019 Horizon is one I have not regretted. I chose this scooter mainy because if it's 'foldability' and portability. Besides the great customer service, the scooter is very well built and is so much easy and fun to ride. Plus, with its predominantly dark aesthetics, it blends in very well with my smart casual look.”
“Such a huge upgrade from my old Xiaomi M365 with 200 miles, which has now become my wife's scooter for our weekend rides.
Horizon is so powerful and is quick to hit 20 mph our NJ speed limit so that I (170 lb) don't even need to use Mode3 usually but in steeper hills. Ride is much more comfortable than M365 thanks to the double suspension system. I wish it had a pneumatic tire in rear too tho they probably had to keep it for Zero 9... When I carry Horizon it feels almost like twice as heavy as M365, but is made obviously tougher, offers much better features and a longer range that justify the difference in weight and pricing. Attachment trolley wheel is helping me using it for my commute to NYC a must have. And to my eyes all black color makes Horizon the best looking e-scooter around that actually catches too many eyes :)
Unfortunately my first Horizon arrived with some damage during a delivery but Peter quickly solved my case by sending me a replacement scooter. I'm glad I didn't go for a cheaper Zero 8 clone from shady oversea dealers but the Horizon from Fluid with a decent, domestic customer service!”
“Awesome scooter. I'm a big guy and this thing moves quite nice, great suspension and display. Solid feel. Only complaint is the kickstand is little short causing the scooter to lean a lot compared to other scooters on market. Also would have liked a bell but those are few bucks addition on amazon/ not big deal.
Overall very happy with the item, having a blast and feel safe doing it in comfort.”
“This scooter is just amazing. I did mad research on e scooters for about 2 weeks before I decided on this. I'm so happy I did. The big question I get asked why this over the wide wheel? I like more of the scooter feel when it comes to turning the wife wheel feels a tad funny. But the biggest reason is that breaking recharges the battery on the horizon and not the wide wheel. And I'm able to ride every where I need to go And back on one charge. I love seeing my battery come back to life when it's low from all that braking. Lol. Other then that the scooter is really fast I find my self taking it slow sometimes because it's so fast.”
“Great product. Minor confusion about shipping but Peter at fluid resolved it quickly and was fast with the email. I only mention a couple day delay to note how helpful fluid was.
My buddy was on vacation and we road all around our area going to lunch or just a fun cruise.”
“I sold my boosted board in order to buy this scooter because I was tired of hitting bumps and falling off the board. In this regard the scooter fully accomplishes its goals. When I originally got the scooter, the front wheel was wobbly and I was sent a new wheel by Peter relatively quickly. It took some time to figure out how to change out the wheel, but once the new wheel was on, it was much better. My only other major problem is the range - I am 180lbs and ride with a 10lb backpack. I never get more than 12-15 miles on a charge, usually closer to 12. I find the advertised 20 miles to be grossly exaggerated, unless my battery pack is defective too. Here is my updated pros and cons:
Pros
- Safe
- Hits about 22 on flats (180 lbs), acceleration is average
- Display is good
- Folding mechanism is easy and fast, though the left handle does loosen like others have said
- Scooter's weight is acceptable
Cons
- Every time you start the scooter, you have to put it into gear 3 for top speed (annoying)
- Left handle loosens
- Scooter has several rattles, not sure where they are coming from
- Range is much shorter than advertised
- Does slow down a little on hills
- Front lights could be brighter”
“I am very happy with the quality and craftsmanship of the fluidfree scooter. It is much faster than I thought it would be and seems to be built very well.”
“I got the Horizon a few weeks ago. I found most 250W scooters on the market were too slow for me and couldn't handle inclines, so I went for this 500W scooter. It does solve the speed issue (I'm 6', 180 lb and top out around 22 MPH). It handles inclines well but not perfectly. I think only the dual motor scooters really can handle 20 degree inclines. This scooter is a bit heavy, even with the lighter battery, so I wouldn't call it a "commuter scooter" like my others, but its great for zipping around the neighborhood. Overall a good value and the display is a nice bonus.”
