WideWheel PRO CLE Edition with keylock Reviews

4.5 Rating 720 Reviews
It's quite snappy speed-wise, but unfortunately i already noticed a slight bend in tht front wheel. The lip is quite thin, and it is something that a rider really needs to be aware of.

SO FAR THE SCOOTER HAS BEEN AMAZING TO RIDE. It is extremely powerful and has good range. One problem I noticed was the back wheel would make a thump sound when turning right and this is just probably because of small factory imperfections and should go away with some time I'm told. Another problem I had is the charger is broken, so fluid free ride is sending me a new one free of charge, however it's been a painful 9 days or 6 business days and it still has not arrived. The customer support has been nothing but amazing, I just wish shipping could be faster. 5 stars

I'll start this review off by saying that I'm not one to write reviews at all, however, I feel obligated to write this one in order to help people avoid some fundamental safety issues I've run into with my scooter. I bought the Widewheel Pro because I thought it would be a fun way to get to my classes. The 26ish MPH top speed (it only hits 25 unless I'm going downhill and I'm 140 pounds soaking wet, but I'm not mad about a 1 MPH difference in advertised top speed and actual top speed) was alluring and the design was, in my opinion, less corny looking than a lot of other scooters I had seen online. I cannot overstate how much I wanted this to be the last scooter I purchased. I had read some comments on here about the braking system and how it needed regular adjustments and I was a little apprehensive- some people even reported the braking system completely failing them on a ride- but figured that as issues would arise, I'd be able to personally troubleshoot any issues I might have. I also thought that the reviews about the brakes going out mid ride were either exaggerated or anomalous. Everything was dandy for about a week or two before the brakes started giving me a hard time, specifically the back brake. I had to regularly readjust it, not just every ride, but every mile or two of a ride. My commute is about 3 miles so this amounted to the back brake loosening mid ride to the point that it didn't function at all, or alternately tightening to the point that the brakes are rubbing forcing me to readjust them on my way to class. The back brake gradually degraded to the point that it was simply nonfunctional by the time I got to my destination, and this caused me to rely on the front brake almost entirely for stopping. This worked fine for a couple weeks; however, I had an experience similar to what I had read about in other reviews. I was riding my scooter back from class, so the back break had loosened to the point of no functionality. I was about to go down a hill on which I usually hit 27 on my scooter when the front brake completely broke on me. I'm not sure what happened but it sounded like a snapping noise followed by the brake creating a metal-on-metal grinding sound when activated. I was about 50 yds from the start of the hill so if this had happened any earlier, I would have been gravely injured, as the bottom of the hill is a two-way street running perpendicular to the hill with no stop signs for traffic. I took a picture of my odometer when it happened, and I had less than 250 miles on it when this happened. I've contacted the support team as my scooter is still under warranty but for this to happen so early on in my ownership of the scooter is EXTREMELY telling of the general quality of this scooter. Upon inspecting my front brake after the hill incident, I noticed that my front wheel had at some point dented. I'm not sure what this could be from, as I only use it for my commute. My area isn't the best paved, but I make sure to avoid the areas that I know are the worst. Beyond that, potholes shouldn't dent the wheel of a scooter which is advertised to be a "durable" and "built to last" on the fluid freeride website. I had been riding around on solely the back brake, which was admittedly a bad idea, but I needed to get to class in the mornings, and the same thing happened to the back brake. No snapping sound was made but I had that same loss of tension and then metal on metal grinding. This occurred at about 245 miles on the odometer. At this point I will be extremely unsatisfied with anything less than a refund. I am well aware of the "refund window", but to set it at 2 weeks only for the scooter to break after a little over a month of usage seems intentional and shady. There are other reviews that echo this same sentiment. In my opinion this product should be taken off the store completely, as almost every review of this product complains about the braking system and how dangerous this scooter is when that system fails. Brakes are easily the most important safety feature on a scooter, so for them to give out so suddenly and dramatically indicates an extremely poor product design. Not to mention whatever crappy metal they used for the solid wheels. I'm not sure what the next steps will be before the service team responds, but I will update my review if possible as I go through the tedious process of ridding myself of this death trap.

The wide wheel pro has been a great scooter. It has excellent power and the battery charge is sufficient for long rides. I haven't tracked the distance or concentrated on the exact speed to it can achieve, but has given me the overall power and distance needed for my use. It is everything that was advertised.

I sent an email with questions about the breaks and if you had someone you would recommend for service in my area and the only response I've gotten is to review you or you're trying to sell me something else.
