“Upgrade is fantastic - two things worth nothing: 1) once installed, handle will not fold down all the way (10-15 degree angle because of depth of new throttle; not a huge deal) and 2) the handle bar screws require a good amount of force to unscrew / screw back in - consider using a sturdier, longer allen wrench than the one provided. I wore out one of the screws and had to use a drumel high-speed cutter to create a groove in that screw (this in turn allowed me to use a flat head screwdriver to remove it). The sleeve that you pull on to fold the handle bar overlapped with the handle bar screws enough so that it required more effort to unscrew / screw back in - this ultimately led to the worn out screw issue. The rest of the install process was straightforward...”
“Control is better but the angle of the throttle makes it hard for me. My thumb has to reach back far which causes pain in my knuckle. I have moved it up and down. Down which is better won't alow me to get to full throttle. Bottom line the throw from start to wide open is too long of a push for my thumb. I actually like the original ones better but unfortunately they don't give u the control. It's better. Have to remember it's a scooter and not a Mercedes. Just have to work around it. Love it even though not perfect. I want to order my third which will be the mantis.”
Hi ehan - the 2020 throttle upgrade only works on the Widewheel Pro. Please message our support team at support@fluidfreeride,com. If you send the 2020 upgrade back to us with a note, we can provide a 2019 keybox.
“Not sure if this review will attach to the original, perhaps it links up via customer name? Fluidfreeride was very helpful in trying to fix the problem. Still not fully sold on the WW Pro as a scooter, but quite happy with the service provided and the willingness to work to find a solution. Would purchase through them again”
“A must have upgrade. Throttle gives you better control and way less jerky response. Installation was easy after using a hex tool with better leverage to remove the screws securing the folding handle.”
