MANTIS 2025 - fluid Edition Legacy Trigger Throttle Display 18.2Ah - 33 miles range Reviews

scooter is awesome, but you better strip this thing down as soon as you get it and thread lock everything and check it top to bottom. I noticed a slight movement in mine after only 130 miles, of ultra gentle riding (jumping up from a m365 so the speed / power take time to get used to) and after contacting FFR was given instructions to take the front cover off and check the bolts that join the main deck to the piece that holds the stem. There are 8 bolts, 4 on each side, none had any thread lock on them, 1 had backed out about 10 turns and the others were all hand loose also. This is super frustrating cause the thing is 2k+ and for that price not thread locking is just completely BS, you could easily break your back or neck or die if those pieces came apart or had too much play in them causing a loss of control. Peter provided great customer service, but I wanted this information to be public knowledge and post it here AS A BUYER BEWARE, FFR is great, but they don't mfg the scooters and despite feeling like a very quality product the assembly is sh*t. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this unless you are ready to take it apart and order some locktite on amazon, blue & red depending on which bolts you're taking care of. This thing is great, but my confidence in it is lost and I could not recommend this to anyone without the disclaimer.

Ever since I've gotten this scooter I've been pleased with the performance comparing to the horizon scooter and it is a real big difference. I really thank Peter for Co-operating with me so I could buy the proper e-scooter for my personal use.

I waited until after 100 miles to write this review, because a lot of these scooters, the problems don't show up until after you've ridden it for a good bit. First off, this scooter is a BEAST. The dual motors make this thing accelerate UP steep hills fast, I've gone 34 mph, up a steep hill. So the motors are definitely more than enough for whatever you will need. I actually recommend using lower speed settings because the torque is just dangerouy strong on max settings, you could shokt the scooter out from underneath you by accident. The overall build quality is just top of the line, this thing is expensive but you get what you pay for, the frame and most of everything is nice matte black coated steel (I think), and it is super sturdy. The schools are like marshmallows and you don't feel many bumps at all, they're great. The clearance underneath makes a big difference and allow you to hop on and off curbs with ease. There only two flaws I'd mention. One, the 'foldable' stem isn't very quick, the double clamo structure is great for securing the stem well (many scooters have wobbly handlebars), but you have to retighten each clamp several times before it's tight, so it takes a little while. Second, the throttle placement is annoying because it's hard to reach the right brake, but apparently that's a common

I spent about three weeks researching scooters..Searching the web, reddit, facebook and various other sources. I knew I wanted a high performance scooter. After researching the mantis and others in the same category, what set fluidfreeride apart was their exemplary customer service. This is what set this company apart hands down. Getting into the mantis, every scooter has its pluses and minuses. Everything about the mantis was a plus. While there were a few negatives, they are easily mitigated with available fixes that can be addressed in the field. I have my mantis and can say with absolute confidence that this thing is a beast. Once you get it out of the box, watch the youtube videos from fluid on unpacking and setting it up. Could not be easier. Highly recommend.

Bought myself this Mantis and I have never been happier with an e-scooter. This is was first "power scooter" and it's well built and so fun to ride. Definitely coming back if and when I need an upgrade.

I did alot of research and looked at alot of scooters and decided to go with the Mantis, it came in the mail super fast, setup was easy and fast and it's fun. It's really fast and has alot of torque at dull motors, the suspension is great it rides smooth even at full speed. I really wanted the blue lights on the sides but mine came with white, when I asked about it i was told they only come with white lights now due to a legal issue which is fine, however some guy by the name of Adam nearly made me regret buying however i eventually got ahold of Peter who was awesome and answered my questions and sent me an upgrade for blue lights free of charge so i couldn't be happier.

Received my scooter in Oct and immediately noticed a noise that happens when you use dual gear for max speed. It's a clanging, grinding sound that lasts a few seconds until it hits a certain speed and then goes away. Seems like this is a motor issue in the front hub. Neighbors of mine with expensive, high performance scooter don't have this phenomenon happening with their scooter. Anyone else notice this? Is common for Mantis? Performance seems to be fine once you get beyond it but I find it hard to believe this sound is normal. My gut tells me this front motor is defective and needs to be looked at. Scooters top speed for me has been 38mph. (178 lbs). Batteries last maybe 9 miles using full dual motors. However, temps were in the mid 50's and that may have had something to do with it. I bought this to joy ride and cruise around my golf community on. If anyone has input on hearing strange sounds upon throttling up with dual motors, please reach out.

Hi Todd, the motors do both make a little noise when starting up but it should not be as intense as you describe. Please send us a little video of the sound so we can identify if there is a problem and fix it for you. Thx - Peter
