“When I turn off the tap and release the water pressure, then carefully walk hose back while retracting, the hose keeps spooling to the right and jams nearly every time before the hose is fully retracted. I have tried various ways of retracting, each time with problems of hose spooling too much in one place and preventing further retraction. The unit itself is well built and the locking mechanism is great, but retraction issues are very annoying. I expected more from such an expensive unit.”

“The Hose reel itself is great however, the mounting wall plugs for mounting in brick/masonary are not adequate. I will be replacing them with metal type expansion fasteners (Ramset). Having first used the plastic wall plugs provided as soon as l pulled out the hose and then retracted it l noticed the plugs had protruded about 10mm. In my opinion the reel when full over water is too heavy for those type wall plugs.
I am a tradie and encounter issues with those type wall plugs often. Apart from that the product is great!”
“I purchased two evolve retractable hoses and they both leaked on first use.
Hoselink replaced both as this is a known issue. I’ve had my replacements for a few months, one works fine but the second has started to leak and has difficulties retracting at times.
Definitely stick to purchasing the original!!!”

“We unfortunately had a leaking issue with our first evolve retractable hose reel. I contacted customer service and they immediately said that yes, there was a flaw in one of the parts for the evolve retractable reel's that were ordered in October/November. They immediately sent us a new one and simply asked that we send the old one back to them.
The new one is fantastic with no issues. Would highly recommend this product. worth every penny. The customer service was exceptional.”
“This reel is a big improvement on the previous models of retractable reels used. I'm impressed with the very positive and consistent retraction mechanism. While occassionally the guide becomes misaligned with hose winding, it's fairly quick and easy to remove the guidance tooth and re-align the guide. The Hoselink support and video were great. Unfortunately, the side rollers on the guide weren't strong enough when the hose was pulled at an angle, and I've broken them on both reels used. It's worth mentioning too that the flow through 30m of hose, in my situation, has been very good.”
