“Really glad I got this in the end. Was going back and forth and considering a whole host of other options BUT chose this unit based on how well it was being consistently rated. Had some initial concerns prior to purchase about the power delivery of 87w being sufficient enough to power the MBP 16 but I personally now that I have the unit, it's a non-issue (I figure you would need to be at 100% CPU/GPU load over a sufficiently long-enough period of time and even then you would need to keep at this load until the battery becomes completely drained). I have more than enough ports freed up by this unit that I would be fine to plug in the Apple charger should I need to - I've left the charger aside which is now stored in my backpack. I use the display port to connect the TS3 to my external monitor and when my Mac is asleep I can wake both the laptop and external monitor with my wireless mouse seamlessly without the need to unplug then plug back in the monitor. This was something I've had to do in the past with an Apple Multi-AV (HDMI) adapter (now also stored with my backpack).
I have been using the UGREEN 2in4 out USB switch so I can use two computers (work laptop and mbp16) to share the same monitor and peripherals. This is now plugged into the TS3 Plus and there have been no issues.
Don't forget to download the additional CalDigit Docking Station Utility to manage ejecting volumes efficiently.”

“The current iMac (2020) and past iMacs have a lack go poor and thunderbolt ports. The Caldigit TS3 Plus offers all the extra ports for your expansion needs. Its build tough and works seamlessly with the current MacOS (Catalina). I would only suggest an update to include an HMDI port (the current display port doesn’t suit my needs).”
