“Once I finally dialed this thing in, it is a lot of fun. Being my first EDF, I wanted something highly visible due to the fast speeds and I have no problems keeping track of the aircraft and it's orientation. The top speed is plenty fast for me, and with the large wing surface I can fly it at reasonably low speeds when I want to push my flight times a bit longer. I have been flying with 3S 1800 packs (pushed all the way forward) and get a solid 3.5 minutes of flight time. However, due to the 1800 packs, I found that I needed to add weight to the nose. I balanced the CG in accordance with the manufacturers instructions, but their CG is assuming you installed the optional landing gear. Without the landing gear the plane is horrendously tail heavy. To correct this, I removed the nose gear cover, attached 14grams to the cover then re-attached the cover. I then fine tuned the CG by adding an additional 14grams to the battery access cover around the mid point. Since then, the plane hand launches great and flies great! I do recommend this aircraft, but please either add landing gear, add weight, or use a larger battery - otherwise you'll be gluing your plane back together.”

“It is a tricky hand launcher and if you dont get it just right than it wants to go extremely tail heavy. Let that motor wind up at full throttle for a little while before you launch it in the air. I use a 1800mAh battery and it seems to do quite well with that size. The build it fairly simple and the gal is durable, I nose dived it into the ground on my first hand launch while trying to recover from the effects of a bad launch. Very little damage was done. All in all, Im happy with it and I would purchase another one if something terrible happens to this one.”

“The panther jet is a very predictable flying edf jet. Very easy to assemble, cg was spot on. I would suggest check all fasteners before flying. 3 minutes into my maiden flight the fan came off of the motor and the jet ended up in a tree. After retrieving found only minor scuffing and nothing broken. I was lucky as all the parts, washer, collet, screw and fan were all intact inside the plane.”

“Poor fitting vertical stabilizer. Had to modify myself to get to fit correctly. Then re paint 3 colors. Esc faulty had to replace with a quality part. One ailiron servo not working strait out of the box. So i replaced both with quality parts. Custumer service argumentatve.”
“It's a different jet. It took some getting use to, but it flues well. In my opinion, it flues better without landing gear. Just use like a DX6e or higher transmitter so you can have up elevatorwhen hand launching. This plane tends to nose dive unitl it builds up enough speed. Also, since I now belly land this plane, I put a clear piece of mylar on the belly and on the leading edges of the Wings so that it can protect the paint from scratches during belly landings.”

“I finally got this Panther and it came out great. I put in a Don's Wicked 4000+ EDF unit with a Hitec 50 amp ESC. I cut the wood battery tray back to the elevator servo to hold the Admiral 4S 2200 and the CG is perfect where it sits right to the lip of the remaining wood tray. I drilled holes in the four gun ports in the nose and the foam behind it to get air in the battery compartment. The total weight of the plane is 1.75 lbs. including the landing gear. The plane flies like a rocket....no trim needed ( I got lucky) and it looks great. Thanks Tom and all your boys at Motion-----Wayne, Matt, Martin, Michael, Brad, & Alpha.”

“I don't know if my last post showed the two modifications pictures so here they are. Pretty simply drill out the gun ports in the nose cone and cut a rectangular area in the foam before you glue the nose cap on. Second is the battery tray cut out to fit an Admiral 4S 2200 battery. I switched out the stock motor and ESC for my Don's Wicked 4000+ and a Hitec 50 amp ESC. It pulls right at 44 amps, 650-675 watts. My plane weighs 1.75 lbs. with the battery and landing gear installed....speed is between 80-90 mph. This plane is so solid and the extra weight keeps it from getting blown around and the landings are better too. At least for me the book CG is right on so I don't get all of the complaints written about it in other reviews. The paint job is one of the best I have ever had so again don't believe the complainers. I have learned not believe the rants of dissatisfied customers because they are just miserable humans and I'm sure **** as pilots. If you ever need to know something about a plane just ask the guys that work there, they will be honest with you, find out what your skill level is, and steer you to a plane that fits you. But please stop being the guy that ALWAYS has something wrong and ragging on the staff......they can fly and fix minor glitches....when you are the miserable ****..... the airplane gods will make sure you keep on crashing. Lastly Tom and his guys run the best RC business you can ask for, we are lucky they are here for us.”
