This is my first EDF and this flies great. I read all the reviews and looked it up on youtube before flying. Yes! Put the battery as far forward as possible. The 1800 mAh battery give plenty of power. However 2200mAh battery makes it cut through the sky. Hit a wind blade at full power on a flyby. Wing did not break just a small ding on the wing. Didn't even puncher the foam or chip the paint. Very please with this purchase. Only thing I would change about this model is the NAVY markings. Wish it had the only markings that should ever be on an aircraft. Marines!

This is just a fun plane. When I first threw it I snapped my hand down to my transmitter to make corrections. None needed! It flew out completely level accelerating at a climb. I've got 20 some flights on it and love it.

The jet flew great right out of the box after two adjustments two the instructions. First, I removed the first section of the battery platform to allow the Pulse 2250 3S 35C to slip into the nose all the way to the front. Part of the battery willstill be leaning against the battery platform.Second, The ailerons' throw was REDUCED to 1/4 instead of 3/8 for the FIRST flight. It seems small; however it allow you to control the aircraft while trimming the aircraft. After you have gotten familiar with the aircraft, switch to 3/8 or great throws for the ailerons. I DO NOT suggest that you try a roll until you move to a minimum of 3/8 throw on the aileron. I have used the low rate throw for the elevator. These two suggestions allowed me to fly the plane with a perfect cg (not the one recommended). and on the first flight with these mods, I did not need to trim the aircraft at all..My flight time was 4 minutes. Jack PS: the plane should have a pilot. I put the ROC Falcon F-16 Pilot from Motion. It is to scale but you will need to cut the about half of the figure's base to get it in the canopy. I made a hole in the foam and push the pilot up just clear of the canopy top. I then marked the excess pilot base to be cut off and then put a piece of very light ply to glue the pilot to the bottom of the canopy foam. Now it looks like a jet flying....

An employee at MotionRC recommended this edf to me as an intro to edf flight. Let me tell you, it does not disappoint. I put an Eagle A3-l in the plane, and it flies very smooth and easy. I would recommend using the 2200 mAh packs. I was very, very impressed with its flight characteristics. Flight times are around 4 minutes. I do not fly aggressively but I do like high speed passes. Building the plane is very easy. It goes together with epoxy or foam-tac. It came trimmed out of the box. Buy this model. You wont regret it.

First Edf. Flies great, lot of fun for the price. Cg was not as the manual indicated. Got good all around flight characteristics at about 3/4 inch from leading edge of wing. (Manual states1&3/4 inches). Ted

I recently put a 4s engine and it is a rocket using a 4s 2200 battery! This plane was fun but often gave me balancing issues as a 3s. With the landing gear and 4s it jumps off the runway and CG is spot on. The cockpit is a little tight but a rubber band keeps the hatch on securely. If you enjoy yours as a 3s keep it but if you are having trouble balancing it correctly and want more power, maybe give the 4s a try. I have never upgraded a plane before this one and will not make it a habit.

It would be hard to beat the Freewing F9F Panther for flight performance or in air visibility. With the optional landing gear and set-up with combined two position flaps/ailerons the jet is an excellent flight and specifically landing configuration trainer for moving up to larger EDF jets. But keep it light over many combinations battery size capacities and fan configurations of both 12 and 5 blades I have found the 2627-4300kv motor turning the 5 blade fan powered by an 1800ma battery to be the best balance of power to weight.
