“I received this promptly from Motion RC...1 week shipped to Canada....awesome job...and shipping was very reasonable. The jet build was very easy and I just have to balance this one yet before I fly it.The only reason I have gave this a 4 star instead of 5 is that reason, I have not flown it yet.I will definitely order again from Motion RC...this has been awesome, awesome, awesome so far. Great company and my first experience with you has earned my business again. Thanks MOTION RC!! You are awesome!!!”
“Does not take 4s stock. It will for a few flights but esc overheats and will cutout during flight. I even moved it into the ducting for better air and it still overheats. The stock is not rated for 4s amperage. For the couple of times it did fly with 4s, fan sounds amazing. Really fast on 4s-90+ and glides forever on langing. I am able to just lay it on the ground (real short moist grass) and belly launch without gear (takes about 300'.) I would not recommend this since it has cheaters on the belly. I have not flown on 3s. Very simple build. I added carbon fiber to the wings. You MUST remove the paint from wing and fuselage before bonding or gluing. I had to remove most of the battery tray in order to get the 4s 2200 35c to fit. I will upgrade the esc to 60 amp. Cant wait to fly it again.”
“I read all the reviews and ordered the Panther. Packaged very well and very easy to assemble! This thing looks killer! For my first EDF this jet was plenty fast and very manuverable and I was nervous as hell. LOL I already have spare parts for it as I buried it once or twice nevertheless I'm very happy with it and especially Motion RC. This company is first class all the way and I won't shop any where else. Thank You. David”
“This a super fun plane. Went togather easy, and for the money is a plane I will always have in my arsenal. The CG is critical I think best with a 3C 2200. And balance right on the first set of intake holes(towards the front) on the bottom of the plane( easy to see once you get one)Give the plane a light toss at full power, let it fly for one or two seconds to build speed and your off. Keep the throw straight and true, like your throwing an arrow(not like a baseball ) just simple toss and your off. ALSO USE FACTORY RECOMENDED THROWS on all surfaces. You think you will need more throw, you won't. Add it later if you want, but first flights as recomended. You will not be disappointed in this plane,it makes you smile:-) GET ONE TODAY.”
“I got the plane with the 3 cell battery, esc and motor. I found it to be slightly underpowered and difficult to take off with a vigorous hand launch. I modified it with a 70amp esc and larger motor you see off the Stinger 4s ducted fan jet. Battery compartment needs slight adjustment and tray needs to be beefed up. I added the landing gear which helped incredibly with take-off. Plane flys great. Fast, good control. Make sure you adjust the aileron throws to 1/2 inch max or you will snap roll everytime you want to bank and turn.”
“Another great plane from MotionRC!The build went okay...not the best I've seen but not the worst either. I 12ided to add a carbon fiber rod to strengthen the main wing although many have said it is not necessary. I also cut the four forward attachment points on the battery tray, pushed it down and made a ramp that allows 3s/2200s to fit with ease. No other mods.Marked CG at 35-38mm from the LE on exterior of the model, balanced it with 1800 and 2200, and marked the battery position for both on the interior.Watt meter data. At WOT...3s/1800/30c:*27.1 amps*284 watts*1.22 lbs3s/2200/20c:*31.3 amps*350 watts*1.28Given these numbers, this beer cooler should fly. Went to the field around 5:30pm and found a slight breeze almost straight down the runway. My buddy and I talked through his hand launch technique given the many cautions about stalls, loaded the 3s/2200 then 12ided today was the day.3-2-1...WOT and away she goes! Slight wooble to the right but spool up was quick and she stabilized nicely. Climbed three mistakes high, backed off the throttle and it was quickly evident that I left too much aileron throw when setting the dual rates because she was very twitchy. I had to give several clicks of up elevator to fly hands-off. Practiced a couple of stalls about four mistakes high. Wow...right wing almost snaps. Did a low approach with minimal power to see how the landing would go then entered a left pattern, kept a tiny bit of power on final and flared to a stop gently in the grass. Wooooohooo...that was fun! So much so, I used my three other 3s/2200s in the Panther and left the field with a big ole smile. The last two landings were dead stick....floats like a leaf.My watt meter is telling me to stay away from WOT with this ESC which is okay because I rarely went above half to three -quarter throttle and had a blast. I love to fly scale airplanes in a scale manner and the stock set up performs nicely. This is my first EDF and I'm sure it won't be my last. I've bought two planes, batteries and several spare parts from MotionRC with excellent customer focus and attention to detail. I'll be spending more of my hobby budget right here! This summer is going to be fun!”
“But a panthers purr. I flew my F9 for the 1st time today. I will admit, even with 31years of RC, I was still scared. I will admit, the plane was a blast to build. All was good, except for that ever so popular CG. Mine was EXTREAMLY nose heavy. But wait, that caused the CG to move forward because of the weight. I had read several if not many reviews that said the manufacturers CG was wrong. I trepedaciously followed the advice of the many and made my CG at 1 1/4 from the LE. I was scared to death to try it so I got a fellow flier to fly it for me. She had a 2100mahz lipo in her so the power was there. He took it off with a lions growl from the EDF. I was shaking in fear. She climbed like a homesick angel as he trimed her out. She turned out very nose heavy but still wanting to fly. I say this because she bounced 5 times on the landing, wanting to go back up. So I gave in, I loaded a smaller and lighter 1800 mahz lipo for the 2nd flight and my friend tried her again. This time during the takeoff roll, she lifted off unprovocked by the elevator and climbed high. The lighter lipo had saved the day. Because of the lighter, smaller batery, she flew and flew and flew. Upon seeing this I calmed my nerves, took the controls, and got my 4:40 of fun. I even got the landing right. It was hard, but the plane is still in 1 piece. Motion did a grand job with the F9. And actually if you listen realy hard, you might mistake the EDF's growl as a Panthers sweet purr. Thank you motion.”
