Freewing F9F Panther 64mm EDF Jet - PNP Reviews

4.6 Rating 407 Reviews
Flew this Panther for the first time today, had six good flightsusing 1800 mah batteries. I pushed the batteries all the way tothe front and was able to use the velcro straps to lock down the battery with no modification. The CG seemed spot on, 1 3/8ths in. back from the front of the wing.Assembly was a snap, good glue and a nice screw driver were included in the package. Everything arrived quick and in excellent shape. Striking color scheme was easy to see in the sky. I found it easy to hand launch by grabbing the back and putting my index finger on the rear skid plate and pitching the plane upward. I did find that the pitch of the short plane was sensitive to the throttle position but mine was not tail heavy - I had to give it some down elevator while fling inverted. It flies good slow and has a good climb rate. I forgot my timer but it seemed like I was getting a good 5 or 6 minutes of flying time doing loops, rolls, inverted, stalling, low high speed passes. After the first launch and subsequent I looked at the control surfaces and they were all centered nicely. Freewing jets are working out nicely for me. Thank You Motion RC

This is a very nice easy to fly EDF perfect for back yard or parks. The stock 3S power system has better performance than I expected. I wanted an easy back yard flyer and it fills the bill. The only problem I had was with the cg. It crashed on first flight and one wing broke at the glue line. After researching some forums I found that the recommended cg is incorrect and it should actually be 1/4 further forward. After making that correction I have no trouble hand launching myself. Motion RC should correct the PDF file and put a note in the kits with the correct cg location! The airplane is good only the instructions are incorrect so I gave it 5 stars for the way it flies after its setup correctly..

Great finish, easy build. Plane flies great. Launches are easy, throw it level or very slightly up (like you would a softball to first base). Using the 1800ma batt pushed all the way forward. Lands like a dream, line it up, idle it down and it floats in. Motion rc has quality products, fast (free!) shipping and outstanding customer service. Not the norm in this hobby. Thank you MRC.

This is my first EDF jet, I fly some pretty fast prop planes so this flies well within my abilities. I highly recommend getting a bungee launch system as this is a pretty hard to hold jet to hand launch.Built a launch system with pedal release so I have my hands on all the controls from the get go. Unbelievable !! This thing just flies right off the rails. Make sure you don't give it more than 20% throttle or it may fly off the rails. Once I depress the pedal and the plane launches it sails right out straight and up.. I bring in enough power for a nice smooth climb out, awesome. Even sounds great.Once in the air it handles very predictively . Some minor aerobatics are always fun and this plane responds well. The only additions I hand to make was the addition of a launch hook placed a little froward of the leading edge of main wing.I also recommend reinforcing the foam area where the air scoop and cockpit meet. There is a thin piece of body section that will break on minor impacts. Simple fix with a carbon fiber rod and some CAAlso I prefer white Gorilla Glue to bond my parts. The supplied epoxy is brittle and not too strong. The Gorilla glue is stronger and it will break away at joint so the wing will come off at joint reducing the probability of breaking the wing structure. Just peal off the old glue from the foam surface ,glue back the wing ,wait until it's dry and off you go. I'm using the recommended 1600 3s which has plenty of power for about 4-5 minutes of flight time.Great little jet.

Took her to the field and everybody just lover this little jet. After you get her trimmed she flies straight and true. Fast and easy to land. Just cut the power and let her glide in. Love to fly this fun jet. Motion got it to me quick and in good shape. Just get someone to throw her almost straight up and thar she goes. Get one you won't be sorry.

Really good value for the money with this jet. It is quick enough to be fun but still very smooth so I like it as an easy flyer and also to try some new tricks on before I try it on my bigger jets. I used to toss and belly land it without any problems but got the landing gear for scale takeoffs and landings now. The color scheme is very easy to see which is a huge bonus for me.
