Beautiful design. Easy to build and to fly.6S 5000mAh about 8mins at middle stick. Flaps don't need elevator correction. Two manuals , one for building, one for gyro mwere misleading for me: Maiden flown with heading hold function. Manual should give a hint to set the gyro function on a 3-step switch on the TX..Look at the gyro to monitor the gyro setting!

Great first military EDF at 80mm+ size. My first large EDF was a FW Avanti 80mm which is an excellent flyer. The FW F9F Cougar was an easy transition and is a true pleasure to fly. Looks great in the air. Stable, predictable and flies on rails with the the included gyro. Just keep your throttle up to ~40% in turns or it will get a little sluggish. For landings I find 30% throttle on downwind and 10%-20% on final works well. Plenty of power for a go-around. I'm flying 6S 5000mah and getting 3:30 flight time with 25-30% left on battery. Flight profile includes some mild aerobatics at 80-90% throttle and three passes in the pattern. With a 6000mah I can get 4min flight time. Fit and finish are excellent and I really like the quick detachable wings. Highly recommended if you are looking to get into EDF Warbirds!

As always, a very easy buying experience from the guys at Motion RC. Quick, efficient shipping to the UK with FedEx handling the VAT element of the purchase.Assembly of the aircraft was simple, (It took longer to program the radio and find a switch for the reverse thrust).Just need the weather in the UK to improve so I can maiden the aircraft.

So this is going to be a mixed review. This is my second cougar. The first one did all the set up and testing in the garage all is good. Went to the filed and did the checks there with our head instructor and all is good. Took the plane up for its Maiden and it was going good until I went to land . One of the main landing gear would not come down. Keep in mind our filed is an Asphalt run way. So tried to land as best as I could but the plane was destroyed. Sent in a ticket about the problem I had with pictures that same day July 4. The next day got a response that they need some more information and testing. So I did all the testing and got them all the information they wanted, With all the testing I did the left landing gear was stuck up and I lost the BEC voltage. So after a few emails basically they said that as a pilot that I need to take some of the Responsibility of the crash. I told them I would agree if the the plane did what it was supposed to do like the gear came down and if I did not loose the BEC..So I did more testing with the wrecked plane found that the 100 amp ESC is pulling 115 amps but they would not tell me the burst valve of the ESC and while doing the testing about 2 min into a 3 min timer the whole plane just went dead.So I went and brought a Spectrum 130 amp and re did all the testing again because I need to figure out what is going on. Tested the plane the same way and the BEC stayed at 6.1 to start and with a battery 5000 amp 50c the bed dropped to 5.7 so I think I have the BEC figured out . The plane never shut off after 3 min and the ESC was also not hot either. So know with all that info I supplied that are still not going to do anything. So moving because i really like this plane. I brough the PNP and the only thing I took from the old plane is the motor. Installed the Spektrum ESC 130 amp set the plane all up and again did all the testing . Did I test flight in the garage holding the throttle to 3/4 about working all the surfaces and landing gear up and down several times and the plane worked in the garage. The Amps at wide open stayed at 115 to 111 amps and then BEC never dropped below 5.8. So all is looking good so far. I even went as far as taking the same flight pack after 3 min testing , took and operated the landing gear for a straight 3 minutes up and down and all was good.So know if the weather is good this weekend we will see what happens. My whole rant is that the planes are made very good but when a problem like the landing gear does not come done and lost or a BEC on the maiden flight how could that me my problem and Motion RC also need to take some responsibility also. Not just sell a beautiful looking air plane and then they won’t do anything abou it. So onto the rating the plane looks beautiful and that is the only reason I brought the ARF. Customer service they were responding but they and I mean motion rc needs to take responsibility for things also.I am giving the a 3 star because Motion RC needs to take some responsibility in there planes after the sale. They say it comes with a 30 day warranty.
