“This plane is a great value and a great performer ! I have the Tigercat and the Lightning and this is a great addition to my Motion RC hanger. The plane goes togehter in one evening ,looks great, and flies scale. The assembly video is very helpful. It will go straight up with my 14.8v 3300mah batteries and sounds like a figher on those low passes with the stock 4-blade prop. The gear retract well and when extended with 25% flaps, the plane lands like a piper cub and sticks to the runway. Motion got it right by copying the scale gear of this carrier plane, it is stable on the ground and in the air. It goes where you point it and is aerobatic to boot. Alot for the price.”
“This was one of my favorite airplanes. I crashed it today when the elevator came off during flight. The live hinge came apart during flight. I love this plane so much that I have ordered one to replace it. I will install real hinges before I fly it.”
“I love this plane. Assembly went together without a hitch. It does take some time to apply the decals properly, but the time spent is worth the final product. I used 2oz of lead in the front of the battery compartment to set the CG with a 4S 3600mah battery. Six minutes of flight time with that battery. The wide landing gear stance negates any ground handling bad habits and its very predictable in the air.”
“With seven decades under my belt, being partially blind, and having only 3-4 years of RC experience, I sometimes pull the trigger on a war Bird like this one, and end up being so intimidated by it that it hangs on my wall or ceiling for a year or two before I gut up the gumption to fly it. Occasionally they never taste air at all. This AM I finally got up the gumption to maiden it and I must say, Motion is not making false claims about the ease-of-handling and the wide flight envelope of this bird. Flying on Admiral 3600s shoved all the way forward, with about 1 oz. of lead in the bottom front of the cowl, my two flights proved my fears to be unwarranted. My only real issue was a pretty forceful roll tendency, worked out with some mechanical aileron trim adjustment. Flights were done at mid-level rates and less sensitive control attachments and the handling was more than adequate for scale-like aerobatics.I had to be cautious about slowing down too much, though the plane seemed to entice me to go there, because at 7000' elevation a stall can take you by surprise while you are certain your speed is adequate. Landing with one notch of flaps enabled a very controlled approach down over a 7' fence and onto an AstroTurf soccer field with a beautiful wheel landing (This plane excels at it), though with no room to spare by the time it stopped before the far fence (Density altitude would have been well beyond the 8000' level). Truly, a sweetheart! One of my biggest fears was visibility, and I must say that this blue bird quickly turns into a black blob if you let it get too far out. I was grateful for the two pairs of broad white stripes I had added on the undersides of the wings! My only complaint is one that is specific to my situation, and not uncommon with war birds. The undersized prop struggled to produce enough thrust up here, requiring close to full throttle settings even for level flight. Typically, manufacturers provide no options for those of us at higher elevations, and we are reluctant to ruin the war bird image by running a two-blader. I would like to see vendors offer at least one prop option that produces more thrust. Well-done, Motion! My Tigercat is next!”
“This plane is really awesome. You can fly fast or fly slow oveer the runway with your flaps and it'll float pass by you. I flew mine for 18 flights and greased all the landings and no nose overs. All perfect good super landings. Guess what? On the 19th flight, I got so cocky and showing off all the tricks that this plane can do while the crowds watched in awe when all of a sudden I hit a light pole with my left wing tip at hi-speed! I can see my Bearcat keeps on flying perfectly as if it hit a turbulence. Then crowd yelled that I haver no left aileron. And true enough, I did a low pass low and slow and saw that my left aileron's missing. I the4n went on final approach, drop my flaps but my left landing gear failed to deploy. I retracted the right LG and opted to belly land on the grass. It came in nice and smooth as if on rails. No damage from that belly landing and recovered my left aileron. Found out that the left wing got pulled out of alignment about 3 inches from the fuselage. fixed the plane and its like brand new again! I give this plane a 10 !!!!!”
“Got this Bearcat as a gift. Flightline warbirds continue to impress me with each new model. The quality is second to none and it flys like a dream, smooth as glass. The wide stance main gear make landings and take offs very predictable. This is my new favorite of 12 warbirds here's a link to a short video of first and second flights... https://youtu.be/Gg60-tHgbM8”
