“The F8F Bearcat from Motion RC's Flightline brand is simply fantastic ! The finish is as good as it gets for a foam airplane, paint is excellent too .The fuselage battery compartment has more than about it room to drop in your choice of 4S lipo packs. All pieces fit together perfectly and there are only nine screws that secure the wing and tail feathers to the fuselage . I always go over any new are , wood , foam or glass ..checking for good glue joints and any other potential problems.I don't know for sure but it is my guess that this particular Touchline model & maybe others are made for motion RC by FMS...& My FMS models ALL had poor glue joints were motor mount & landing gear is glued to fuselage .Fixed gear and retracts are almost always installed poorly . If guy are considering this plane and fly from grass that is less than perfect a good mod is to add some forward rake to landing gear with thin washers ..this will help prevent nose- overs and gear will still close without any problems.Servos , motor & esc are all trustworthy and an excellent match to the Bearcat. If you want to fly at warp speed you can upgrade power system and go all out .A larger your blade prop from a 1400mm model is more to scale but will be problematic on takeoff for most as it only leaves aprox 1 inch or ground clearance.Retracts function perfectly , wheels are very attractive and as is the entire model. This offering from Flightline is more than worthy of a nice graphics set from Cali graphics.Caligraphics . A couple nice even coats of minwax water based polycrylic in satin add some paint protection ..I add graphics & then the polycrylic ..ask Dali graphics what they suggest ..that really know there stuff.Bottom line - The Flightline F8F Bearcat from motionrc.com is pretty much as close to perfect as foam warlords get ..as a matter of fact , it looks so good many do not know it is foam until they are almost sitting on it .Fit and finish is excellent , installed electronics are a good match for dependable spirited performance..great scale details like the zinc chromate inner gear doors and cockpit . at just a penny under $ 200.00 shipped to your door it simply can't be beat ! And here is the kicker ...the customer service & support from Motion RC is second to none ! Pull the trigger ..you'll be glad ya did .Radio Flite RC”
“Very well designed and easy to assemble offering. Everything from beginning to end was a breeze. Could not have asked for better. As for flight, it is a well-behaved Warbird. That says it all.”
“don`t retract the gear when plane upside down as doors will bind. some screws are way to small and should be upgraded to a larger size for this plane.”
“The airplane went together fairly smoothly. Directions our little inadequate. But being a seasoned Builder I was okay. 1 gear hung down a little lower and there is no adjustment. Also the decals are horrible to put on. I ordered graphics from Callie Graphics.”
“I cleaned the surface and applied the decals properly. Most of them are all peeling up on the edges. That's it. Everything else about the plane works perfect and I fly the wings off of it every weekend!!”
“My first effort into an electric/foamy airplane after 8ish years flying glow fuel airplanes. Was very pleased with how it flew, needed minimal trim with CG set right at the manual's requirement. I had to add about 1.5 ounces to the nose to get it to balance, with a 4S 4000 mah Glacier lipo as far forward in the battery compartment as I could get it. I did not used the control board that came with it. Instruction manual was not written by someone who speaks English as their first language, but you get the gist. The decals looked pretty nice (one of the sold separately sets was accidentally included in my box), a couple of which were a little flappy after two flights (I might not have pressed hard enough). Overall very pleased with my purchase and am likely to try Flightline's comparably sized Spitfire if I continue to enjoy the Bearcat.”
“received the bearcat quickly. the build was easy, everything fit great the manuel is terrible but if have built pnp planes you really don't need it. finish is really great and decals are a breezy to put on.Ryan has a u tube video on how to connect all the servo leads to the blue box made it easy to do please watch this video!! only problem was when setting up the radio i noticed that only one flap worked what caused this is the control horn was not glued in so i glued it all ok now . First flight was nearly perfect used admiral 4 cell 4000 mph battery all the way forward ,balanced perfect just 2 click of up elevator then hands off landing was a breeze. another winner from motion rc”
