Bought it for my dad for Christmas, and he was over the moon! I've never seen him look like a little boy opening the best toy he could ever receive! Customer service was fantastic as well!

Went together well, looks great and performs well. I added the optional landing struts and it’s now a work of art.. I opted for one 5000 mah 4s Spektrum battery which came out under recommended battery weight by a few grams. Also used a ar631 with safe so I had a cushion of confidence as this was the biggest plane I’ve flown. Already ordered another plane because I was blown away by the quality. Badasserry!!

received as ordered in excellent condition and delivery on time. the on line build instructions were very helpful. on assembly and connecting to batteries the port side aerlions and flaps and light did not work. investigation confirmed the two servos did not work. tested servos with servo tester both failed. Had to purchase rep[acement.

I just returned home from Maiden and a second flight. Both were uneventful using book values for throws etc. with 2 x Admiral 3000 Lipos. The only thing I would recommend is adding a third Dual Rate setting with a larger travel on Rudder for sharp turns while taxiing and then moving to normal rates for takeoff. Power and controld were very good and i landed with full flaps from both flights without event. I think they did a great job with this Kit/ARF.

I LOVE the P38, it's iconic, beautiful, and hasn't been modeled to death like the P51. This is a great example, big, beautiful, lots of detail, lots of power, and currently comes with decals applied, so within an hour you can have it in the air. There are a couple issues to be aware of. First is the struts, a model this size and weight really needs a suspension, and the fixed stock struts bounce the thing around quite a bit, the upgraded struts are practically a requirement, especially for grass fields, really wish it came with them, as the nose strut is tedious to replace. The 25mm high Aileron rates in the book are really low, and it rolls very slowly, moving control horn holes and adjusting rates to get at least 35mm helps, still stable, but at least can do scale aileron rolls, and a better match with the far more responsive elevator and rudders. There are some reports of crashes from servo horns coming loose in flight, so I checked all of mine, most were secure, but I had one flap, and one aileron horn that came loose easily and had little glue, easy to fix during assembly to prevent a crash later. The motors each have their own ESC and either needs a pair of batteries, or a single large 4s with an adapter. I use a pair of 3300s, and can get an easy 8+ minute flight time, the plane handles the weight with ease. The only problem is that each ESC is independent, and if one battery or motor is a little stronger than the other, you will get changes to yaw trim during the flight. A 2-1-2 connector or soldering a wire between the pairs of power and ground wires will keep the packs voltage balanced. There were reports of early models having spinners crack and come apart, causing crashes or damage. They are reinforced and stronger in the current model, but get a spare, and check it frequently. The model can also have a nasty tip stall with some aggressive maneuvers, or basically a hard bank and yank at slow airspeed, when in doubt keep the speed up, or level it out. It is a warbird, and this is a common thing with many.Upgrade the struts, wire in something to balance packs if you fly with a pair, check horns and go by the manual for rates, and don't be afraid to set up more aileron throw. Once the bugs are worked out it's a beautiful model, plenty powerful, 80+MPH on stock 4s power, a breeze to fly and land. It is worth the little fixable gripes.

this plane is a winner! looks great and flies great. long flights like running it hard for 6 minutes or manage the throttle and fly for 10 minutes using the admiral pro 2500 batteries. with a little throttle you can hover it on landing. plenty of power with the stock set up. If I ever lose it I will have to buy another one. easy assembly.
