“Great flying and looking plane, good speed with gentle characteristics plenty of vertical power. Have had both color schemes and the sun shining off the silver is best in my opinion although both look great.”

“This was my first (but not last!) Flightline model. It went together in 3 days and flys very well. I added a Hobby Eagle A3 gyro. Lots of compliments at the field. I’m flying with 2 4S 3300. Thanks!”

“Arrived with Pudgy V decals already applied - glad that was what I was going to do. Have not finish building - but having trouble with the blue connection box - landing gear not working. Finish is okay but be careful - paint will peel 0ff easily.”

“For anyone who has the P38 Lightening named MADU, I can give you info on the original plane and it’s pilot. He was a close personal friend and would have even proud to know his plane still flies. I would be happy to relay his story. Anyone who wants more info can contact me stlawyer@icloud.com.”

“This is my 3rd review which I deserve to do, since I'm on my 2nd Flightline P38. I truly love this plane - it's looks, the way it flies, the attention to scale detail. Truly a magnificent RC Warbird. NEVER tire of flying it. So, if anyone cares, after a year and a half of great flights, I accidently installed one discharged battery along with a charged battery - stupid, right - don't need to tell me. The right ESC cut out on takeoff at about 50-75 feet and it stalled and crashed. A week later I had the new one and started building it. So here's why it is almost 5 and not 5 stars: unnecessary building issues: 1. The led light leads. They are unlabeled and way too short. Here's a tip: make yourself extensions. Use a JST red female case (with pins) to plug the led lead into one end. The other end of the extension should be a Dupont 2x1 connector to mimic the OEM led lead. These are made the same way you make servo extensions - same crimping method. Use 3 of these ~12" extensions for the 3 led leads and your build will be 100% easier. Also - see #2 and see my attached pic of the extension I built. Note, you can also use the male JST's but you'll need to dremel down the width to get them to nest together on the cicuit board. 2. The led's are not labeled and the blue circuit box instructions in the manual was not correct. If you have extensions, then after you bind and power up you can change the connections to see what works right - landing gear should light as gear go down etc. My experience is that both wing lights go where the manual says "strobe light", the strobe (lites on bottom of nacelle) go where manual says "Wing Light" and the landing lite is correctly named in the manual. 3. Final issue with build: Replacing the wheels with the Dubro's is highly recommended. 2.5 for nose and 2.75 for mains.... BUT: on my plane the set screws were so tight that they stripped with high quality hex wrench. I had to drill them out!! Had extra wheel collars of right size fortunately. Also, it's not "drop in" for the nose wheel: you'll need to sand or dremmel the tire hubs in order to get the wheel collar to fit over the axel far enough for the set screw to seat. Now all of this might sound a lot of issues. But the plane really is terrific. You can build it as is, my suggestions for the leds just makes it easier. Why after all this time Flightline hasn't revised manufacture to include longer led leads escapes me. In the end you won't regret getting this airplane. I love it.”

“Well made and looks great. Takes time to put decals on so haven't flown it yet. Would be helpful if there was more information on wiring and routing within the nacelle, but otherwise good instructions.”
