“The order process was great and shipped super fast, June 28Arrived at Canadian address in couple days, July 1The model looks great and I also upgraded with the shock absorbing strutsInstructions aren’t the greatest and could be betterAssembly went well until testing the connections and motors, etc.upon plugging in the 4S 5000 lipo battery and turning to grab my transmitter I was shocked to see smoke pouring out of the left ESC. I was able to unplug within a few seconds but it could have been disaster. I disassembled and tested the other ESC and motor which seemed fine. Not sure what happened but after reaching out to Motion Support they concluded that it was a failed ESC and would send a replacement. Luck would have it that the ESC was out of stock for a week.Instead of waiting I was able to replace both ESC’s with similar type ESC and reassembleThe maiden flight was last week and it flies great. Did need quite a bit of aileron trim and a little up elevatorIm running (1) 4S 5000 100C pack with Spektrum AR8360T receiver (AS3X)The replacement ESC was shipped out July 18 and I still haven’t received it as of today July 25th. I would have thought a warranty replacement would ship expedited but it is slowly working its way thru the postal service now.To summarize this is a great flying model but the quality of some components may not be the best. O and double check your bullet connectors from ESC to motor because this pre assembled model doesn’t have any shrink tube protecting those areas, and whether that was the problem that caused my ESC to melt, Im not sure but it could avoid any possible shortsMotion RC and their Support team was great to deal with and I would purchase again in the future”

“I have loved the Lightning and wanted a second. My first was a second hand, well used 1200mm model that ended up with an electric failure. Upon unboxing, I found the packaging to be very secure. All of the parts were in great condition. I took my time during assembly and was making sure all the surfaces functioned. Of the four flap servos, I found one did not operate. At first I thought it was just a servo. I ended up having to disassemble the main wing from the fuselages and ended up having to test the connections to the wings. They are little connection boards that connect all the wires to a ribbon cable to the wing. Turns out, the Y connector for the outer flaps, was bad. After replacing that with connectors I had on hand, I was able to get full functioning flaps and ready to go! Unfortunately, I chose a very windy day to maiden, failed to maintain speed in a turn on approach, and crashed. I have ordered replacement parts and hope to get my weathered model back in the air. Pilot failure. My one complaint on assembly is, the cables coming from the sides to the center fuselage are difficult to fit in the channels.”

“Excellent flier. I had one two years ago and really enjoyed it until its untimely demise. Overall not difficult to build. My only disappointment this time around was not having an option of graphics. My previous one came with a choice of I believe 4 different schemes.”

“This is my second P-38, my first was 2 years ago. I really like the plane and it flies great. Just disappointed that there is no longer a choice of markings. My previous P-38 came with decals for at least three different schemes. Bobcat is not the one I would have chosen.”

“This plane flies absolutely amazing. I got is from a friend who had only flown it a few times. I flew it the day he gave it to me. Blue box works well and everything cycles perfectly. I did have two issues. One: the elevator servo and control horn are just glued and not reinforced, cause of crash. Put a cover or replace with something screw on. Two: The wings are a pain to wire. You have almost no room to fit the extra wires when you plug them in. But overall it was very locked in, flew on rails, plenty of power for tall grass. I think that the paint scheme is beautiful. It was also much slower than I thought it would be. The flaps help a lot on landing. High rates on everything. But for a seven pound plane, very slow. Would highly recommend at a steal of a price”
