“Keeping with the basic concepts of construction when erecting these units will help to ensure that you achieve adequate service life from your shelter. Keep the door closed to prevent winds from entering the unit. This becomes more important as the unit ages. These shelters can withstand remarkable wind exposure from the exterior when anchored and installed correctly. Not so much from the interior. I had a shelter that withstood two back to back hurricanes a month later an afternoon squall blew the top seam out because I didn't close the door.”

The standard cover does include a 1-year limited warranty, and if anything goes wrong within that time frame, we strongly suggest submitting a claim. Please know that fabric life is affected by the application, location, and the physical elements the shelter is exposed to. If you live in an area that gets more sun exposure than most of the cover, along with exposure to other elements such as strong winds and snow (if applicable), it can also affect longevity. We do offer replacement cover kits in Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Ultra-Duty material. The heavier materials have a longer warranty and life expectancy, which might better suit your needs. “Shortly after we put up our REPLACEMENT cover we noticed that it was already wearing thin where it went over the support bars. We could see light through the top when looking up from inside. We had to purchase another stronger tarp to put over the top to be sure it won't start leaking again.”

“Once it arrived the replacement cover fit as it should. I asked for just the main structure cover and one missing horizontal stiffing tube but, SL was kind enough to send a complete set of 3 covers. In the end that was a wise decision because the non-zippered end also ended up having a hole in it that I did not previously see until the structure was erected.”
