“The Tech just left, again, stating that there will need to be a return trip, again, to try and identify where there is a leak. It is his belief that the leak is in the actual Bosch unit given that the gauges had shown a drop in pressure from yesterday -- and those readings were specifically focused on pressure within the Heat Pump unit. He had made mention of potentially needing to bring out a Bosch rep to view the unit, and that this is work that shouldn't be done while it is raining -- which the weather is predicting will be happening tomorrow.
This means that the next appointment will need to be on Thursday -- and there is some urgency because Friday will likely be into the mid-80's again (and result in ANOTHER heat spell where my family has no access to the AC we paid Shipley to install and provide). On top of that, my wife and I will be leaving for a business trip beginning next week and not returning until the beginning of October. There was never a moment when I had been prepared to expect this process to take up 2 full weeks -- WITH the possibility of expanding into a 3rd week.
One additional thing that the Tech brought up was a question as to whether our electric bill spiked in the winter. I responded that last winter, there were multiple months where our bill jumped to nearly $1000 AND I went through a significant amount of heating oil -- which we have been forced to hold as a secondary heating source. He stated that the spike in electricity was likely due to the fallback electrical heating system kicking in because the Heat Pump was failing to work properly. He asked why we didn't reach out when the bill jumped that high, and my only response was to say that there has NEVER BEEN A TIME -- SINCE THE INSTALLATION OF THIS HEAT PUMP -- THAT I COULD SAFELY SAY THE SYSTEM HAS OPERATED PROPERLY FOR ANY PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME! Truth is, my family has no idea what a functional Heat Pump is, because we have never had a functional Heat Pump! Since we've never experienced a functional Heat Pump, I've been trained by Shipley to accept a failing Heat Pump as the norm.
At this point I blame BOTH Shipely and Bosch for failing to properly provide and support the Heat Pump that we purchased. This MUST be addressed and corrected immediately because at this point failure to correct the situation will result in my exploring what next step actions I must take. If there is any confusion as to why I am now at this point, here is a listing of the personal experience my family has dealt with while relying on Shipley:
-- Issues with this Heat Pump left my family in a deep freeze without heat in the first winter.
-- That first winter also resulted in $1000 electric bills and the depleting of our oil reserves to address the failing Heat Pump.
-- The next summer, the Heat Pump again failed to operate and left my family in the summer heat without a functioning system we paid for.
-- This last winter, it was just made clear that the failing Heat Pump AGAIN created high electric bills and forced me to increase the amount of oil being purchased.
-- Then, at the beginning of summer the system failed again and left us without AC at the beginning of the summer -- which is the same issue that is negatively impacting us right now (having been left without the available service we had paid to have available to us).
We have spent TWO YEARS dealing, in futility and dependency, on Shipley to correct the issues with the Heat Pump they sold us. I now require that Shipley addresses, corrects, and makes right this issue.
I expect to hear shortly what the schedule will be for the NEXT appointment.”
“Not here before I left. Notes on card say he didn't have some nozzle on his truck, so when is he coming back to finish. Also I am not sure he changed the oil filter on the tank. It's not his fault the schedulers screwed up. Mary, a customer service representative was terrific earlier in the day when I called because the tech wasn't here. Your different departments have a communication problem.”
“I did not receive any update, or status of the repair. The brand new wall mounted split unit was left in pieces in my room with absolutely no explanation. Very disappointed in this service”
“I am not happy that the condensation pan is cracked on my unit and the water drained into my attic insulation and ceilings. I had it serviced as part of my contract in May and was not told of a broken pan. I have only had service staff in the attic to work on it.”
