“Order was seriously short on weight. I received just over 20 pounds. I called support and was willing to pay for shipping to cover the shortage. The support person (I think his name was Robert) said they would ship me a small (4 pounds), and that was fine with me. I never received the peppers.”

“I hate to give this a poor review as I do love the Hatch Chile Store and think they have the best chiles and truly care about their products. I realize that you really can't control nature and that clearly impacts the quality of chile as well as most agricultural products. I'm not truly sure that what I got was what I ordered or if the Medium Big Jims this year were a total flop. The chiles I got from a box labeled medium were much smaller than my Big Jims in the past (most were 5-6 inches with a few reaching maybe 8 inches. None were meaty and were not acceptable to make rellenos which is generally how I use the Big Jims. Overall, they were pretty mild though occasionally a hotter one jumps through. They mostly looked like their Mild version maybe by mistake. I still think the Hatch Chile Store is outstanding. Perhaps in the future for those of us who preorder might be an email stating that the chiles were not up to standard and given an option to change the order. Just a thought. I will continue to buy chiles from them in the future and I still recommend them for your fresh chiles.”
