“I bought this as an upgrade for a PrimaLuna EVO 300 preamp, as on my other tube amp (Woo WA6SE) the WE422 rectifier tube improved sound considerably. I briefly listened to the stock PL tubes, then swapped in the Philips and heard no difference whatsoever. Both tubes sound perfectly fine. I give it 5 stars as the Philips tube by itself sounds fine, but as an upgrade it failed. I may have to swap the tube a few more times to be sure. However, as Amir of AudioScienceReview pointed out in his video on testing, the longer the time between changes, the worse our ability to notice differences. Having to power down the unit and wait at least five minutes before changing makes it VERY difficult to positively identify differences and to rule out confirmation bias. Differences can not be subtle but would need to be stark. Re cryo treatment, independent testing has shown cryo to be pointless. Easy to find with a bit of googling. Save yourself that money.”

“Great upgrade to my PrimaLuna Evo 300 preamp. Have had them installed for a month now with about 75 hours of playing time. Overall sound has improved depth and musicality. Expensive, but well worth the money spent. Thank you!”

“I've had these in my Primaluna Dialouge Premium for about 30 hours. They sounded pretty good right out of the box. 30 hours later, they are starting to bloom and the low end has tightended up. Looking forward to the next 30 hours. I've got Philips Heerlen in the gains and Telefunkens in the followers. I've found the right combo for my system. This is my 4th purchase of tubes from Upscale and is lways a pleasent transaction. Get these before they are gone.”
