“I replaced my worm and guide slug, Legacy is working great again. My worm was severly bent (gorilla using the corker) and was tricky to remove from the slug. Order your new parts BEFORE you start so you remember how to put them back together. Good time to grease things up too (I used silicone grease). If you need to replace the worm, do the slug too. Take pics on dissambly and note the positions of the moving parts AND the corker lever. It's a pain to replace if you don't. Parts are position sensitive to make it operate correctly and it can be assembled so it won't work. Took me a couple of tries, don't force it. Have a good place to lay things out. It's a hard shape to hold on to and everything wants to move or fall out of position before you get things lined up and close the housing. Use the Legacy's base clamp on a 1x2 in vise if you can. It leaves you with 2 hands to work with and you can position the open half of work face so it faces up. If your not handy with tools, find someone who is. It only takes a screwdriver and maybe plyers to remove the old worm. But you need to have some mechanism smarts cause there are multiple moving parts. It's simple but still a bit tricky to get everything lined up and close the housing before something moves. It took me a couple of tries to position the mechanism parts correctly because I took it apart 3 weeks before I had the replacment parts, and didn't take any pics.”

“The worm is great. However, the customer order cycle time leaves much to be desired. 5-10 days is reasonable. 4 plus months is not.”

“The Legacy Corkscrew Worm worked well when first got Legacy wine opener, but after opening several bottles the Corckscrew Worm jammed and was destroyed. Replaced with a new one and jamming continues. Will not be replacing again because of high shipping cost!”

“Loved the legacy corkscrew but stopped working one day. Great attentive customer service and some replacement parts had me up and going and in love all over again. Stop with the throw away openers, buy a legacy for life and great customer service and support from Wine Enthusiast. Very happy!”
