I read the other comments prior to buying... I have to say I disagree with any comment that said it was hard to assemble. It was very easy to assemble. No problems at all. It is very sturdy and well designed. It looks great. It took me about 2 hours to put together and I was not in a hurry.

[...] The assembly instructions were... well, let's just say it's lucky that I'm good at puzzles. I had to redrill 95% of the predrilled holes. The pieces preassembled do not properly line up, so other parts do not fit properly. It's functional, and the bottles are held well, but I'm happy it's NOT in my living room! Based on function alone, I would have recommended this to a friend[...] and the assembly nightmare, I can't recommend this to anyone I want to keep as a friend. I expected better for the price.

This is exactly what I needed for the space I have in my kitchen with 10' ceilings. Assembly is another story. Screws are inadequate to pull in brace pieces. Yes, although careful, wood split in front. Assembly must be improved, otherwise is very functional piece.

We were disappointed with flimsiness of pieces. The type of fasteners were extrodinarily difficult to work with (we ended up using other fasteners), several front molding strips broke easily when trying to fit into frame. We should have spent the money for a sturdier wine rack.

It took over a week after the order to get the product that was in stock and ready to ship. The outward condition of the box was beat up, but the contents made the journey without incident, and because of the size of the package I had to make arrangements to be home during a 6 hour window.

I have bought and assembled two of these racks, one in Sept 2010 and one in Jan 2011. [...]natural finish were fine on both, but the documentation and pre-drilling leave a lot to be desired. The first unit went together easily (in about 3-1/2 hours), but the second one had many mis-located holes, requiring lots of custom drilling. Not terrible, but time consuming -- took me about five hours to assemble and install the second unit. Detailed assembly instructions are not included, but I got a set from Customer Support. The hardware kit was incomplete in the most recent unit, and the included screws do not match the documentation. But the rack looks good, is sturdy and it holds wine.
