“The course is only Jonathan talking about the various topics. There is very limited demonstration of techniques and much of the advice is pretty vague. The main take away from Jonathan is "try things out and you will learn" I think I knew that already!”

“This was not a class, this was a video essay made by people who are not interested in learning to paint. I think the most frustrating thing was seeing the painting come out with all the line work already on it and we never saw how that was done. Did he do that from photographs? Which one? Why? They edited out all the parts that would have made this interesting. I found his vagueness annoying, just tell us the brushes you are using, don't say try whatever you like. We want to know what you use. Also the order of the videos is frustrating, materials are course 20? Materials should be at the begining.”

“I regret I found this course rambling. It was obvious that Jonathan Yeo has to sit chatting about his work for hours with his sitters, and it felt like that. He spoke reasonably well but it was a course about Jonathan Yeo, portrait painter rather than portrait painting with Johnathon Yeo. I was hoping for more practical advice and inspiration.”

“I think Jonathan Yeo was doing his best to talk about portrait painting, but thats the problem. Too much talk. Dull. Boring. Not sufficiently engaging and dynamic.
