“Isabelle Allende is a wonderful writer. It is a privilege to be able to listen to her words of wisdom gained through years of experience. She is an inspiration. Yesterday I put pen to paper and started to rework some of the ideas I had in line with her recommendations.
One important piece of advice given is to join a writing group. She explains that if you are lucky there will be people working on good novels. However, be prepared for and expect and the harsh critic, get used to this and learn from them, whilst holding your own views and ideas.”

“While Isabel Allende is lovely and inspiring and helps the student overcome the fear of writing, the course is quite basic in that there aren't many detail, techniques or exercises for how to write better. Some linkedin courses with known writers have much more in terms of text analysis, or writing exercises where the tutor of the course shows how they approached that writing task, which is very very helpful.”
