“Using it with a Masterbuilt 1050 gravity fed smoker and the fan that came with the smoker. My controller went out and it was only about 50 bucks to replace BUT I never loved the controller. The connection was not great and the app is terrible but the grill itself is awesome. After debating myself for a few days I decided to go with this. It is night and day. It connects as soon as I turn it on and the app/controller/temp have been flawless. Such an upgrade. Do yourself a favor and grab it.”
“Fantastic product! Could not be happier with my Fireboard 2 Drive, it has been an absolute game changer for me, allowing unattended overnight cooks and great temperature control I could never pull off before. Solid product, amazing features, wifi works great. It also goes through the internet, I can go to the store and still check my grill and meat temps through the Fireboard app, it seamlessly transfers from home wifi to internet over cell when I leave my wifi range. Wish I had bought one sooner. If I ever lose or break this device I will replace it with another Fireboard device. Bonus: Made in USA”
“I've had my Fireboard 2 Drive for almost 1.5 years now, and it's a fantastic device.
Sure it's a bit on the pricy side, but you get so much out of it - more than worth it for me.
It does everything other similarly priced products do, and more.
Battery life is amazing, never had issues with my long brisket cooks; Build quality is also great - I've exposed it to lots of different conditions, including high heat, cold weather, rain/high humidity, and it works like a champ. Bluetooth connection to the phone has always been solid, and works from quite far!
On top of the device itself, the integration with the app is awesome - the app is really slick and works perfectly, but I would take half a star on this because some stuff just isn't intuitive and took a bit of digging to learn everything, and I consider myself relatively tech-savvy.
The other thing I LOVE is the ability to share the cook progression with friends, or just put it on a browser page - sometimes I keep it open on a laptop near me so I can monitor the cook and use my phone at the same time.
If you can afford this but are on the fence, don't think twice. Seriously.”
“I’m not one to usually write reviews but I used my new FireBoard 2 Drive to smoke a chicken on my Kamodo today and was thoroughly impressed. My CiberQ kicked the bucket so I went with this unit. I was a little hesitant at first because of not knowing anyone who owned one. To my surprise, this thing kept my entire cook within three degrees and I’m particularly impressed that it automatically knows when the lid is opened. Hands down, best smoke I’ve done and I owned the CyberQ for three years. I regret not replacing it sooner. Great Product!”
