“Ok....I don't write reviews, but I have to for my Fireboard! I purchased the original in May of 2019 and loved it. Trying to control a low and slow smoke on my kamado style grill (Grilla Kong) was an all day affair. I had to supervise the grill pretty much constantly so it made a cook pretty labor intensive. There was no way I was going to tell my wife that my new $1,000.00 grill was a pain and that I wanted to but a pellet smoker so I pushed on. This year I thought I'd try the Drive Cable with a fan and see if I could salvage my relationship with my kamado..........It did! The first cable came defective but after a quick call to Fireboard and a pleasant chat with Hayden I had a new cable within a couple of days and WOW does it work great! I can now start my cook early in the AM and head out for Bloody's and brunch or go to the local DIY store and pick up stuff and get home and work on projects, the temperature stays even and consistent. I also use it to get the grill up to temperature quickly for pizza and Steaks .Their customer service is second to none. I would highly recommend this product!!!”

“I purchased the FireBoard 2 Drive model with the two temp probes and ambient probe. I started with a Weber iGrill2 which is ok, but I found myself needing to be able to remotely read temps. I settled on the FireBoard but waited until the new models were released for pre-order. I am glad I waited! I use a WSM 18.5" smoker and the FB2 Drive paired with a fan is essentially "cruise control"! I have done many cooks and now get to sleep all night without worrying about tending to the smoker. My wife who initially was not to enthused about my new hobby actually wants to learn how to use it because of the "set it and forget it" ease of use! If you are on the fence about buying a temp controller, buy this one, you'll not regret it. I wish I would have started with a FireBoard and put the money into it vs. starting with a lower priced competitor. Support from FireBoard is first class. I did experience an issue with my first one, but they promptly replaced it. No further issues. Buy the best, and forget the rest!”
“Easy to use. Accurate temp detection. Love the way you can scroll through the graphs of a cook and how you can set up programs that you can adjust to obtain the best results. Truely a winner. Works great on my Kamado Joe. You do need to make the fan inserts a little bigger to keep from having air links.”
“Just got a FireBoard 2 Drive and had a quick play - all I can say is wow - this is absolutely awesome !
The app and cloud are great - the set-up and ease of use and the display is so cool - I have had a few controllers and this is on an other level compared to anything out there.
The probes are really good quality, the only issue for me was how to put the UK plug on !! once I was told it was so obvious !! but apart from this and not a big issue nothing, else to complain about.
The fan connection is great and works with any fan - I have an odd fan from an old bit of kit and works straight away.
Can't fault it and just love it - will be doing pulled port, beef and chicken at the week end.......
Also the Wifi and Bluetooth connections are great - easy to set-up and works a treat - there is nothing not to like.”

12 Lbs Brisket (trimmed)
First run and use of the FireBoard 2 Drive. I love it.
Ran with 2 ambient sensors on probe 1 and probe 2.
Fan was ran off of probe 1.
What I learned:
* My Smokey Mountain Smoker run REAL hot (I need to use less charcoal and save the $$)
* The fan does an amazing job keeping and maintaining temp.
* WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity is great for remote monitoring but can be addictive to watch over time.
* The fan and temperature logic (ML/AI or Algorithm) is pretty damn good.
* Works great on Android 10 / Samsung S20+.
What I would love to see in the product:
* A magnetic adjustable goose neck stand that firmly holds the Fireboard 2 but magnetically attaches to anything made of mild steel and allows for easy adjustments.
* An optional small clock on the FireBoard 2 display.
About me:
* I have been a software and hardware engineer for 35 years and currently embedded//Android with DoD contractors for Federal//Goverment space with several patents. Prior to Fireboard 2 Drive I always wanted to "design and build" a better smoker temperature monitoring and fan controlling box. BUT the FireBoard 2 Drive does this for me without spend the time and efforts. There is not much to improve on but maybe some of the mobile software support.”
