“Each morning I woke up feeling determined that that day I would eat less sweet treats, stop eating when I felt 70% sated, work out in the gym and be mindful of the blessings in my life. Then as the day wore on I would find myself binging on sugar, then just giving up on the gym, and promise myself to practice mindfulness the next day. I was tired of my excuses and very disappointed that I could not find the motivation to work on my goals. And then just like that, as if they realized my pain, GGS posted an article on motivation and described how it is nothing more than a desire to do something, and that motivation was not necessary to reach our goals. They always get my attention. The article got better. Lack of motivation is normal and to be expected from all of us (clients).
And that's what I love about GGS. No judgement, no yelling, no telling off. Just one confirmation after another that what I am experiencing is normal. Understanding and kindness are among the great qualities of my coaches Jen and Ellysia. But GGS is not just about empathy. “I started GGS Coaching program in hopes of changing my body composition. What I received was so much more than that. I gained acceptance of myself as a beautiful, strong, resilient human being capable of doing what I set out to do. I learned how to break habits into tiny pieces that I’ve successfully incorporated into all aspects of my life. I got through a major illness, and injury and learned tools to care for and nurture myself back to a place of health and strength. I learned how to replace the feelings of shame and guilt I had about my post-menopausal body with feelings of gratitude and joy for what I can accomplish in my 5th decade of life.
