“I recently hosted an event based on the Hot Ones challenge. 6 competitors and 11 sauces(bonus XXX hot ones #11). I am reviewing my line up with feedback from myself and 5 others. This was my #8 sauce. The taste was not at all what i expected. I personally live in an asian household where miso is a pretty regular thing. this stuff was super bitter/sour and had a strong vinegar taste and smell to it. 0 of the 6 contestants enjoyed it at all. Heat wise, this was pretty spicy. I wouldn't say it's worthy of its 8/10 rating though. Taste - 0 of 5 Heat - 6.5-7 of 10”

“I got this from the Heatonist store in Williamsburg, so I was able to sample this sauce first (it was recommended by a store employee). It is incredibly hot, and quite delicious. I dont really taste much miso in it and have eaten it with chips and salsa, so I think its a bit more dynamic than one might think given its labelling. Its nice and sour which is great, but I do suspect there are hotter sauces in the line up if you're going for 10/10. For most people this is plenty... but take caution, this will make you "pay" later on if you know what I mean ;)”

“Solid Hot sauce with good flavor that will work for a variety of foods. Good level of heat for everyday use without the worry about the next day punishment. Definitely worth the buy in my opinion.”

“When I opened this bottle I was pretty shocked by the smell, pure white wine vinegar. So when I tried some of this I wasn't surprised that the only things I tasted were that vinegar and a good amount of heat. Really disappointed in this sauce, I will keep it around to add heat to dishes but I will never use this sauce as a condiment or as something to add flavor with.”

“This should honestly switch places with Burn After Eating in the lineup. I have both, and this is easily spicier. This goes well with anything that we cook with soy sauce. But, I have to use it very, very sparingly or my entire mouth is on fire. The flavors definitely become more pronounced if you spread it out or mix it in to an existing sauce. Otherwise all I get is a hint of flavor, then all heat.”
