I didn’t like it at first but it is a top 5 for me now. I love this sauce its so unique with its flavor and stands out as one of my go to sauces on pretty much everything. I have not tried on wings but stir fry eggs and pretty much any noodle is great.

I really truly wanted to like it, but there are competing flavors (Cassia, star anise and ginger) in it that make it almost too complex for what its purpose is. The sauce is great addition to dishes if you want those dishes to taste like the oil. Because of those flavors overpower, you really lose out on the Sichuan which is there, but definitely not forward. As "spicy flavor oil" it is good, which isn't as marketable of course. Heat is very good though, it is great in pho. It is more of a "flavorer" as opposed to a hot sauce to me.

Not as hot as described, and not as versatile as described. Pushed it to the back of the spice shelf, maybe i will find a use one day, or hopefully have a guest over that likes it and then I can unload it.

This sauce is decent on wings, and other items like shumai or gyoza, or anything else you might normally use rayu (la yu) chili oil on. That said, it's a little "dark" in flavor for my taste, and I actually prefer rayu, though this is definitely spicier.

I’m so sorry this one threw you for a loop. Sometimes it’s about finding the right foods to pair with the sauce. Just like fine wine, a good pairing will make the sauce shine! Or if you'd like a suggestion for something more to your taste, send an email to ilovehotsauce@heatonist.com

Love it. Makes everything kinda taste like I am eating.. dumplings. In a good way. Just give that spicy numbing flavor. Perfect on wings and finger foods like jalapeño poppers and sticky pork rib let’s.

I took a flyer on Sichuan Gold and I could not be happier. Instant classic. The flavour is miles deep. Definitely grown up material. The Heatonist description is spot on. As is the evaluation of calienteness. However the tasting notes mention no smoke, whereas I feel there is some, but may be just me lacking the proper words. Furthermore, and no pun intended, alas, I felt the sauce had a very low smoking point, so careful when you cook.

This is less of a hot sauce and more of a chili and numbing pepper-infused oil, which I love. My wife is Chinese, and I used to ask her to add so much numbing pepper (Sichuan pepper) to our dishes because I love it so much. She can't eat too much numbing pepper, so I always added too much for her. With this, I can add as much as I want to my own dish. This was the perfect product that I wanted, but never knew that I could have.
