About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. “Well packaged and presented. Reasonably well made for the price range with a very nice board. Chess pieces could have been a little better finished but again, quite typical within this price range.I do wish the board had rank and file notation to assist with teaching but overall impression is good.”

“The packaging was better than the product. Scratches on almost every side of the board which alot of other reviews also confirmed. Was hoping this wasnt the case but there you are. The last thing a customer should worry about after the high acclaim they give themselves.”
