Your little one may have had unexpected extra toes as sometimes, due to their make up of Silkie and Easter Egger genes, it is not unheard of for a bird to inherit the Silkies' gene for 5 toes. “I received my blue egg laying Silkie chicks slightly early which was awesome! I picked them up from the post office and could hear them peeping in line all the way from the back office! They are vigorous chicks and though they are roughly a week + old now, I could not be happier. I have purchased chicks at feed stores and ended up with bio security issues but so far these chicks are very healthy and I plan to buy more in the future. Besides hatching your own, this is the best way to go.”

“All the chicks arrived healthy and active. They’re just over two weeks old now and I haven’t had any issues with them. Two have black feet and one has yellow. One of the black footed ones also has super fluffy feet so it’s a nice assortment and it’s easy to tell them apart. This was my first time raising chicks and so far it’s going great. They’re all very interactive and vocal about what they need”
