Baby Chicks: Silked White Easter Eggers Female Reviews

4.5 Rating 151 Reviews
I didn't actually receive the silked white easter egger we ordered! We received a green queen bantam easter egger instead, and I adore her. (The system is still forcing me to write this review in order to submit the other reviews I wrote on chicks I actually did receive.)

Ordered 2 female and 1 male. They all ended up females and all lay green eggs.

I love my silked easter egger! She is very sweet, and lays blue eggs. But, I think MPC should not say that they are "large fowl". Mine is most definitely bantam and lays bantam sized eggs. Saying they are large fowl is very misleading.

We are so happy to hear that you love your silked white easter egger girl! They are a favorite amongst customers as well as our own Flock Care Specialists because of, not only their beautiful eggs and appearance, but also their wonderful personalities. We indicate "large fowl" for their size in the general "widgets" as they are not "bantams" but are a smaller sized standard hen. Because of their genetic mix of Silkies and Easter Eggers, their eggs won't be as large as a Barred Rock or a larger size standard Easter Egger, for example - but will still be larger than a bantam's eggs once she matures. Your little one's eggs should become a bit larger over time as she matures. In the more descriptive area of the breed on their page, we try to let customers know that they will be smaller than a typical Easter Egger since they do have Silkie blood in their genes. We hope this is helpful and invite you to reach out to us if you would like to ask any further questions or have any concerns. We are always happy to help!

Very happy. I got two silked easter Eggers (female). I had them DNA tested for both gender and blue egg gene and both of my chicks came back as female with a O/O for blue eggs. They are incredibly healthy and quite adorable. One has a crest and beard and the other just has a crest. They are less sweet than my silkies, but still quite sweet. They are now 10 weeks old.

Winifred "Winnie" is beautiful. I love watching her interact with the other chicks I ordered. She has no idea she is small She is four weeks now and still so spunky!

My little silked Easter Egger will be 4 weeks old on 5/27 and I couldn’t be any happier. She is MUCH smaller than my other chicks but is healthy and keeps up. She also jumps into my hand! I grab the others when moving them for cleanings and she just hops in my hand like a it’s cup. She’s got black skin, an extra toe, silked feathering coming in, and a pom pom on her head. I got her + 2 other Easter Eggers from my pet chicken and they made it to me on Wednesday morning after being shipped Monday.
