How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? lots of measuring twice before cutting and of course using measurements (distance) that then at times had to be converted.
How successful was this kit in encouraging physical activity in your class?

As I'm a sole science teacher now I decided to use this with physics! There were designs based around catapults with some focussing on how far the marshmallow would travel to how fast and we even did one on how many could be caught in your mouth (this was the favourite BTW). We made bridges that had to balance on your arm and see how much weight could be placed too. Nice to still do these kits that let me use it as a base and not a step by step design.

Wow this was one of our favourite kits we were able to do lots in our Pāngarau. Our akomanga loved all the challenges and progress they did.

Fabulous kit the kids are loving it and having so much fun creating their own challenges, they have learnt so much about world records. Thanks for these wonderful kits they are so easy to follow and the kids love all the goodies inside they are a great incentive.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We did a measurement unit - time, length, weight - which we incorporated into our record ideas and attempts. It also tide in with our school value of Mahimahi.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Stack the most chairs with one hand in 1 minute. Furtherest crawl in 30 sec. Most fake food remembered while standing on one leg on a chair for 30sec. Who can draw the most number of hearts with their toe in 1 minute Longest leap from standing with 2 hand

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? I made slides with the guide, so videos and info were all ready to go and sequenced. The cards were helpful for putting their record ideas together (these were used with help from an older buddy class as my students were years 1 and 2. The students enjoye

My students really enjoyed coming up with ideas for their records and competing for them. Lots of fun and laughter. We incorporated our measurement maths into it. It was a perfect way to finish the year.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It is a very interesting kit, students found lots of information on world records, why people want to create, it took us to do a bit of science- what is fair testing, 3 types of variables. They wanted to create some class records.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We actually planned to have our school record holder but because of so many things happening in the last term, couldn't organise

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? while measuring the distance they worked out in measurements conversion of units eg cm to m - converted hr to minutes or seconds

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Kids saw rea life maths and links between hpe, maths, and communication.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Looking into further records, why some things can't be Guiness records, outliers, limits.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This kit gave us the perfect opportunity to integrate PE and being active into our Maths. Many students worked hard to better their score (most catches of a ball with one hand in a specific timeframe, for example)
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This kit could support students to do independent research on other unusual world records and perhaps write a report on these.
