Sorry to say this but I just gave up! I have not been in the classroom as I have been off sick since February. I had some correspondence with you but we never received the kit at school? As there was a reliever in the classroom I didn't push her to do any lessons as she continued with her own programme. I plan to be back in the classroom for term 3. If the kts can be sent before the beginning of term 3 I will ensure I teach it.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? There was a lot of measurement, using distance and time. Also counting for records of amounts.

My class has really enjoyed creating their own world records. They have made lots of different records to achieve. We are currently going through the records a few at a time and awarding badges and banners.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The kit allowed for maths thinking, physical activity, writing, planning and oral language. The students had to create a world record and then practice it and set a time or a number to be the holder of the record They then had to explain it to any teache
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The idea of training and practicing to become good at something and that it takes time and that you will fail a few times before you succeed.

This was an awesome kit and the student really enjoyed creating then competing to obtain the world records. We learnt a lot about measurement, timing and also being unbiased in tracking and completing for the records. Would recommend for all to do this kits.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? An unexpected by-product of this kit was that my students started displaying huge amounts of kindness - links to the PE and Health curriculum. As we carried out world record attempts, my students spontaneously started cheering for each other, encouraging
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? My students are really excited about measuring, and have developed an interest in ordinal numbers and rankings. It has also encouraged some resilience when things haven't gone well, which we will continue to build on.
How many DIY World Records did your class make?
How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? My students learned that time feels different depending on what you're doing eg 30 seconds sitting silently feels different to 30 seconds eating chocolate. They learned that you need to choose the correct way to measure something, and the correct unit.

My class have never been so excited to do math! I needed to really simplify the content for my Year 1/2 class. I generated the world records for my students to speed up the process, I can see how the kit as written would be great for further up the school. One thing I would change is the badges - we went for Olympic styles with a limited number of challenges, so I would have got more use out of multiple badges with 1, 2, 3 on them.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? They enjoyed delving into the Guiness Book of Records and finding the most random records they could find.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The class wants to keep investigating different records and new ways to create and break them.
How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? The kit made students think about the different ways to measure things, instead of just with length, weight, etc.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? They were using their imagination and thinking out of the box. They were working with different students and created great conversation!
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Students are still learning to work with all students in their teams. They are discussing the possibility of more challenges to make.
How many DIY World Records did your class make?
How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? The students enjoyed the human benchmark and measuring their reaction speed. They enjoyed learning about units of time, measuring and estimating lengths, counting. They were able to use it in real life context and having fun.
How successful was this kit in encouraging physical activity in your class?

Some of our things arrived broken which was a shame. As we are a large cohort we had to try and fairly divide the sent products with the printed ones. The materials gained engagement but there was not enough in our pack.
