We linked this kit to our interest in the Commonwealth Games. We created world records that involved throwing and running. The children were then applying their desire to make the most to other areas in the classroom.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit?
We are now going to follow up with ordinal numbers. This has linked to our reporting system, with Parents hearing about the skills and dispositions that the students used. We are also visiting our local gym club and have talked about how we might measure

Extended and enriched our oral language around measurement. Linked concepts to meaningful experiences. Children explored measuring, tally marks, writing numbers, ordinal numbers and explaining their ideas.
