What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Writing and maths were huge, pe of course, we also linked to our module of celebrating - celebrating success, and links to our school values

“We have just started the kit this week but the students are loving it! Their competitive spirit and determination are coming out and its great seeing different students shine in different areas. What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Measurement- linked to the commonwealth games and sporting achievements.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We ended up doing a lot of the practical activities at fitness time and we have some new ideas for syndicate fitness from this kit and the ideas the students generated.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? This linked perfect to our measurement unit.

“The students in my class had recently become interested in the Guinness book of world records which was a great hook into this kit. We spent a long time setting up what our records were going to be using the formula given. This was really important as our initial ideas were not practical.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Great links to mathematics with measurement, counting. We linked to writing, the children had to choose their favourite recorded that took part in and explain why.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The children loved the random, silly challenges! Would definitely like to bring more of those in the classroom as team work challenges or just as brain breaks

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? We stuck to pretty basic records as our class is made up of yr 1/2 but the measurement aspect was great in terms of distance records, also counting if the record was for ‘how many’
