What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Pushing yourself, that will power was really important as we used the kits just before school camp, so was great to unpack personal bests etc.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The kids found it amusing enough, they focused more on the fitness first. However, since it was their own world record and was authentic to them, they could see how their experiences could be represented as mathematical data.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we cannot progress further into future learning opportunities that ties to this unit. However, my students actively try to make fun activities to compete with each other and has sound data interpretation knowledge.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? We used the data that we gathered to look at mean, mode, and average. We also used to think about which graph would work best depending on our world record types.

“The materials are easy to use. The children loved the videos that were already included in the online lesson plans and had fun finding some of their own. This is a really great statistics and fitness resource. The world record that they choose can be at any level, so it can be adjusted to any year level.”

“The idea of the kit was good. Kids found the process of using the different cards and then putting them together quite difficult. The plan was also quite hard to follow for teacher planning purposes. Students enjoyed having a go at the records.”
