What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We incorporated the reading of Guinness World Records into our reading programme. We also did some creative writing around real life record holders. PE/fitness

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Mostly measurement and data collection. Application of real life mathematics.
How successful was this kit in encouraging physical activity in your class?

The kit captured the students interest as many had already read the Guinness Book of records. Straight away they were coming up with ideas (some very out there initially!) The process outlined in the programme was very straightforward and helped them to challenges which could be measured accurately and undertaken fairly. I do have a small class (only 9 kids) so I think it might have limited the creativity a bit with such a small group.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Students will continue trying to attempt the records they are passionate about. How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? The students had to really think about how they could fairly measure their record activity many times. Having a set offical for each record was great as they could measure in the same way for each attempt. The egg timers and tape measure helped the offici

The title immediately captured the students interest as many had read the Guinness Book of records. Straight away they were coming up with ideas which, by following the process outlined in the programme helped them to refine them to challenges which could be both measured accurately and repeated fairly each time. The Formula poster was greta for students to refer back to when designing them and they loved trying to earn the badges which the students wore with pride and were a bit reluctant to give up. Well done for creating a fun and educational unit with resources that have been engaging and motivating for the students while also a bit of fun for the summer term.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Integrated learning opportunities are so wonderful and I find my students so engaged and enthusiastic. I observe them moving through the different learning areas with ease as opposed to segmented activities.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Measuring their records correctly - we had teams with officials on each one who were responsible for measuring the record. Lots of discussion surrounding parameters and consistency took place to ensure the fairest judging possible. We measured with time,

This kit is fantastic! It is the second time I have completed it. This year with Year 5/6. It was challenging , engaging and super fun. It is superbly put together and a fantastic hands on learning experience for students.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? the students had to work out a few mathematical sums related to the world records. Having the incentive of the record helped the students stay focused

The kit was really awesome and the students absolutely loved the challenge of breaking a world record. I would definitely recommend this kit for any teacher! They wanted to attempt the real records so we havent yet got to the point of acheiving it ourselves but we are working on our progress.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Our novel 'Ghost', we are reading incorporates world records so this kit was an awesome link to our reading.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We got onto the topic of growth mindset and not giving up, the children realised if they pushed hard and put their mind to it then they could achieve things.

My class just wasn't in the right space for this - they didn't handle the 'silly' aspect, and once I mentioned that the records could be officially sent to the Guinness Book of Records, it all went to custard. Not School Kit's fault. Some of the ideas had merit, and the kids certainly loved the very first activity, which we got a lot out of. I could re-do this, with a committee of kids to choose the records - without the silly (or just a slight element of silliness).
