We have only had a couple of weeks to experience this kit as we got it in the school holidays. But has been a great thing to use on fridays and in the afternoons. We will keep using it over this term. A few of the children found it challenging when they did not have success straight away .

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Data collection, sorting and displaying. The kit gave a really life context to why we teach statisitics.

The unti tied in with our maths statistic unit. Kids enjouyed creating activities and gathering data using a range of fun exercises. The resources are as usually topo quality and the children were really excited to see them and the medals.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Kids loved the cross curricular aspect and integrating it into a variety of our other class programs .
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? They want to keep doing it - and use it as tuakana teina program to inspire our younger classes to give it go!

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Statistics - graphing, average, mode Measurement, estimation and time. Increased use of mathmatical language.

This kit was great and gave the kids a lot of different opportunities to explore their own learning pathways. It worked well as an integration to our maths program too and real life context to what they were learning! Kids were excited to get the competition going and was so cool watching them create world records!

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Haven't discussed this with students. Possible learning opportunity is developing a competition between classrooms and recording this data during a Statistics or Probability Unit.
