How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? The use of time and measurement. Being able to be an accurate time-keeper was an important factor and knowledge using measurement when marking out distances.
How many DIY World Records did your class make? (1) Organise alphabet in order and sing the ABC song. (2) Distance a paper plane will travel (3) Catching a frankfurter and catching it between 2 slides of bread (4) How many Postit stickers can be attached to your face.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Knowing how to encourage the competitor, keeping to limits and be able to explain what was required so all students are aware of boundaries and rules. Have fun during learning.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Further investigation into world records we bought the Guinness book of world records 2023 and it is the top book in my class this year.

Had some cool reasources for children to use independently in a play based learning environment. My kids loved measuring, recording and playing with the idea of World Records. Lot’s of independent play and learning based on the teaching of the kit.

Superb kit. The various bits of equipment provided in the kit were useful. The onine resources and material to assist running the unit helped. Kids had heaps of fun learning about the world record process, and developing their various ideas for a record attempt. It was interactive and engaging.

My year 4 class loved the DIY world records kit. All children were able to access this resource, regardless of their level. It really enjoyed how it made statistics, gathering data and measuring, a hands on activity and was fun!
