My students struggled to create realistic records initially so we had a bit of a dry run. The stationery provided excited the students and they loved using the timers

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Some children climbed trees to read passages of their books aloud, some hung upside down from the jungle gym and sang the alphabet backwards. Some children ran around the field playing their recorders - so music, maths, PE, Reading.... it was all there!
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This unit coincided with our athletics programme at school so we have done research on world records in all athletic events and also compared heights etc of the athletes. WE researched the weirdest records set and they did a project on a record that inter

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? We had to measure distance and time. We ordered records and examined decimal numbers.

What an incredible and fun kit! We loved it! It was great maths outside that was creative and heaps of fun. It was a challenge to make our records unique - we really enjoyed looking at all of the video clips too! The kids were engaged, motivated and really enjoyed creating their own records.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? It was a fantastic way to incorporate maths in a fun learning situation e.g. measuring how far students had jumped, counting letters written in a minute, using timers/stopwatches

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have kept coming back to the poster over the year and the learners try and beat their world records.
