My students struggled to create realistic records initially so we had a bit of a dry run. The stationery provided excited the students and they loved using the timers

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? We completed along side our measurement and Add/sub units. The tie in was great.

The year 4 children of R12 loved this interactive kit. THey enjoyed the freedom of choosing their own ideas around what records they would like to break/make. I will definitely be doing this kit again.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Students linked health and PE with mathematical calculations. They created posters to for class members to explain how the record would work

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Students always like to try new out of the box things especially with one another. They were all able to show leadership qualities through out.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will definitly be using this kit again so have saved cards to come up with more records

The ākonga were so engaged and determined to beat the world records! There was a lot of discussion about other records we could try and break - definitely appealed to my competitive bunch that's for sure!

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? It was a fantastic way to incorporate maths in a fun learning situation e.g. measuring how far students had jumped, counting letters written in a minute, using timers/stopwatches
