What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Students are keen to continue trying to break more world records, with some even designing Christmas Day activities for the whole family.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The kids enjoyed using this across reading and they explored other records that other students or other people in the world have made, they wrote about it. This encouraged them to get active as this was often a good way to make a new record.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The kits are wanting to create new games or activities that other students can get involved in. Not only in our class but across the school

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? They had to think about how to measure their records and how to do this accurately and fairly. They needed to be able to repeat this measurement, so accuracy was important.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The students filmed the finals and had roles as journalists and sports commentators - it was fantastic combining drama, script writing and oral language skills with the World Records Kit.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? I am definitely going to use the ideas from this kit again. I will incorporate our litaracy programme better, using related reading topics and fiction and non-fiction writing opportunities.

The students were so engaged with this kit as they love a bit of competition! It added to the measurement work we had done earlier in the year and was a great way to review measurement in a really fun way.

I used this kit as a follow-up from the games. It provided an opportunity to reflect on what had happened, how successful participants were, and if they had an opportunity to participate what would they like to compete in.

I found this kit hard to use, I didn't understand how to introduce the idea of world records - I found a lot of resources on Twinkle to support the beginning of the unit so students understood world records. I needed more detail from the plans. I had a student teacher that tried to start the unit but he didn't get it either. I think because of the lack of understanding my students never got momentum and it never took off. I did try three different occasions and gave up. I have a Year 3/4 class - mostly Year 4 - I think it might be too hard for this age level :) It did fit nicely with our athletics :) Because I didn't use the kit correctly I am happy to return it to you :)
