What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The Olympics
I don't feel like I did this kit justice - but the class did have fun and enjoyed the learning involved. They did benefit from the mathematical language used within authentic contexts. I feel like if I were to do this kit again, I would put more thought into helping my students initially come up with more easily measureable ideas, as this took a lot to refine.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Social Studies
The DIY World Records 24 Schoolkit was a fun hands-on resource that allowed my children to get creative to create their own world record events, use their problem solving skills, while adding healthy group competition that my Year 5/6 children thrived on. The kit was well-organized, featured a variety of challenges and activities that catered to different learning styles and needs in my class. The instructions were easy to follow and all materials needed were easy to source. A fantastic resource that could easily be adapted to be used at any time of the school year!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? So much! It tied with literacy, maths, PE, science...
My class had such fun creating their own ideas for world records! We had everything from longest finger nails (which weren't long compared to the actual record!) to how many laps around the school bike track could we do in 30 minutes

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Dissapointing that you can't put true answers on here because you don't let people put not likely and very low.
I found this hard. The kids struggled to put together challenges that reflected the expectations. We never ran our own olympics as it never came together. I found it not as easy to get going as the other units you have made.

The tape measures were well used to measure distances - talked about converting between different units and decimal units for part measures. Thinking about what was best unit to use. What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths, writing, inquiry
This kit engaged most students as there was lots of autonomy- choosing their own crazy records to test and students could follow their interests. The timing worked well with the Olympics on and world records being set. There was scope for students to take on different roles such as record attempter, timer , verifier etc. so everyone got involved. It was fun and promoted friendly competition and encouragement of each other.
