How can the learning in the kit go beyond the classroom to improve whānau wellbeing? by using the base recipe at home with whatever vegetables are around.
What barriers do your students face to access healthy eating? not many
We enjoyed the maths and science behind the Make a Vege Cake kit. Learning how to make a base cake recipe was great and some children went home and tried this for themselves. The instructions could have been clearer, with a little more explanation needed around added ingredients or where the baking powder comes in or whether it replaces something or is in addition to. I felt a lot of the initial instructions were inferential. Overall, it was good and I will definitely do this again.

Out of the 4 substituted ingredients we tried and made separate batches of cupcakes, every child tried a bit of every cupcake and really enjoyed the taste. They loved learning about the different combinations of ingredients and their chemical reaction. An excellent learning tool! Thank you.
