I had a number of kids who went home and recreated the base recipe. Most of my sudents came up with a third idea to refine their test and were disappointed the term ended. We may pick it back up to allow them to retest.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why?
Loved the recipe sheet and the review. It'd be really cool if the recipe sheet could be changed to allow them to choose the components that are going to use and a space to add their substitutions - as a particular group of mine 'forgot' what their new recipe was.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners?
That they don't like beetroot in baking! haha
How effective was this kit in promoting healthy food in your classroom?
I think it was a great launchpad for discussion, as I said, it would be great to revisit this further next term and give them the chance to redefine and test. I love the scientific method exploration in this kit.
What learning from this kit can students take home to impact their family's wellness and health?
That you can reduce sugar and substitute with other similar ingredients as they had a chance to research similarly acting ingredients.

If we had a chance to work through to create an awesome tasting cupcake we'd be doing so well.. We didn't quite get there in only two bakes, most second bakes were a bit of a fail.
