It was fun seeing how the cake changed. I liked getting to cook my own food.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why?
electric scales - could be used for so many other things in the classroom outside this kit. the review sheets also helped kids arrange their thinking really well.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners?
On it's own, just excitement and some awareness of sugar, fat etc. Combined with other classroom learning, it was quite powerful for some.
How effective was this kit in promoting healthy food in your classroom?
Pretty good in the short term. Lots of conversations happening around morning tea and lunch. However this did start to wear off in the long term.
What learning from this kit can students take home to impact their family's wellness and health?
Just having the confidence to make things at home and experiment a little with the recipes.

It was good to build their confidence in making things themselves. I heard from some whānau who said their kids had come home and tried something similar at home.

cost, whānau knowledge, exposure to what they can eat/buy
