The shoe is advertised as a trekking model, supposedly suitable even for climbing Kilimanjaro. In reality, it’s only nice to look at. As soon as you put it on, it feels like wearing a slipper—and slippers are definitely not ideal for walking long distances. Even though the size is correct, the foot doesn’t stay in place: the stretchy upper material doesn’t provide enough support, and the heel moves around quite a bit. Maybe the shoe just doesn’t suit the shape of my foot, but the pair my girlfriend bought has the exact same issue. I bought them thinking they’d be perfect for traveling, but since they’re so uncomfortable, I’ll be leaving them at home.

The toiletry bag is heavier than I thought it would be. There's a lot of different fabrics/materials used besides the prolite material which add weight and inflexibility to the bag. The biggest problem is actually how deceptively small despite how many compartments it has. The waterproof compartment (a soft plastic maybe silicon like material) inside is 2 dimensional, meaning liquid toiletries in a cylindrical container cant be pushed down, the pocket bulges and prevents other pockets from holding things. It's genuinely worse than just having no compartments whatsoever since the bag is so stiff. The bag is also not designed so that when it is bulging, the bulge is in the front, which means when attached to the prolite backpacks, it actually eats into the space of the backpack. Also the hook used to secure the toiletry bag often slips onto the loop you thread through to secure the bag in the first place, which makes it significantly harder to take off the bag when the cord is taut, you have to fight the tension while trying to get two loops (the other on the backpack) out of the hook. Overall, I'm incredibly disappointed in this product, i wouldn't recommend purchasing it for a toiletry bag. It might work ok as a tech bag with a waterproof compartment for say an ssd or thin power bank, but there's better products out there, and I would never put my electronics on the outside of my backpack.

I'm incredibly disappointed with this bag, it's genuinely so sad because I had been eyeing this bag and following tropicfeel since their first shell kickstarter. I just cannot stress how annoyingly long all of the different cords and straps are. They have a little elastic band to try and manage them in different places but I find that no matter how I try to use it, the strap slips from the band and just creates annoyingly long loops everywhere. The sternum strap is so damn long, you'd think the only person who can use it is dwyane THE ROCK johnson. I think I read in some other reviews that it's also supposed to double as a luggage strap, but again it's so damn long the bag just slumps and causes an in balance in weight against your typical carry on luggage handle railing. The hook used on one of the bottle pockets keeps slipping due to the orientation of the loop it attaches onto, it the loop were the other direction it would be more secure. The elastic cord used to tighten and secure a waterbottle doesn't tighten enough for your average plastic water bottle you might buy off the street. The material of the bag also means there's very little friction between most cylindrical bottle materials and can easily slip out. If your bottle is gourd/hourglass shaped, it might be ok after tightening the cord as much as possible. You could switch it to the other side where there's an even longer cord, but honestly it's so damn long that the only reason i can think of for it is to secure a tripod camera mount. This side is definitely more secure since the cord can wrap around multiple points of whatever object you put in, but again the cord is so damn long and annoying to fight and keep out of your way. The absolute worst design flaw is the top down opening combined with the zipper opening for the main compartment. First the too down opening cannot be cinched completely shut, I could definitely still just put my hand through and i bet a slender handed pickpocketer could too. This is livable still since normally you would buckle the flap down anyways. But this is where the real problem is, because you cannot since the top opening fully closed, when using the zipper opening, you cannot since easily put something in quickly and have it slip out the top opening even when the flap is buckled. What an insane design flaw, I wish I had known about this! Other issues I have are the hip/side pads, which are always getting in your way, and when combined with how much I need to secure the long straps makes for an uncomfortable feel on your lower back if the pads don't fall to the sides perfectly. The foam mesh padding on the backside doesn't allow for enough airflow for me and I sweat, but maybe that's just a me problem. I also bought this bag because of the attachment system, with the complimentary toiletry bag. Long story short, it's also just a bad product with bad compromises. You can hopefully find my review on that on the toiletry bag page. Now that most of the bad is out of the way, the good is the bag is spacious, the material feels sturdy, the hardware like the hooks feel premium, (but the buckles feel like cheap plastic) the secret pocket is nice, the shoe waterproof compartment is nice, and I would still trust putting a laptop in the laptop compartment since the padding feels dense enough (but theres no padding on the very bottom of the pocket so if your laptop slides down and you drip your bag, it could still be damaged, another really weird design miss??) I wish I could return this bag without penalty but I'm out of the 30 day return range. The compromise between lightweight and usability is just bad on this bag, would not recommend for the average traveler, wrangling this bag is a pain in the

How satisfied are you with the performance of the product? The product was broken after short period of usage
Within a few months and couple travel usage by train, I had to send back the toiletry front bag first and then the backpack because the were broken. Both had been exchanged quickly but still a hassle. Also the backpack is quite heavy. It didn‘t meet my expectations and there‘s no option of reimbursement though if there‘s a lack of quality.

I have the previous Lava in black and I liked the way they look and feel, are very easy to put on and take off. But they started to break down quite fast. Wanted to try the new Lava but they are very hard to put on and take off and the colours don’t match the ones on the website

How satisfied are you with the size? The size is wrong – Too large
I had to pay €18 for the return because the shoes didn’t fit me well, and unfortunately, the correct size was not available on the website. This was quite disappointing and made the shopping experience worse.
